US: First Reactions Hail Jordan Peele's GET OUT Follow-Up As A "Horror Masterpiece"

Following the stunner that was Get Out, Academy Award winning filmmaker Jordan Peele returns for another socially conscious horror film, and if last night's reactions are any indication, it's another hit.

With Us having its premiere at the South by Southwest film festival, reactions are pouring in from the year's first horror event. Riding on fantastic trailers and a twisted premise, many see the film as one of the most anticipated cinematic experiences of the year.

Starring Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, who co-starred in last year's Black Panther, Us is being praised from all sides of the critical spectrum. Specifically, those who have seen the film are hailing a career-best performance from Lupita Nyong'o and the undeniable directing chops of Jordan Peele, "our modern day Hitchcock."

It's amazing to witness an emerging filmmaker boost to the top of the food chain like Jordan Peele has. After primarily being known for his comedic work, he is proving once again that he should not be dismissed as a genre creative.

Us hits domestic theaters March 22nd

Hope his next movie isn’t about a bunch of innocent black people being killed or nearly killed

@campblood - Isn't that like the premise of nearly every horror film, specially slasher movies? Except for being specifically black people.

@Soos @8thdoctor I want to see him do a different genre . Maybe a return to comedy

@campblood - Between this, Lovecraft Country, Twilight Zone and Candyman he seems to be currently interested in doing (producing and directing) horror with a racial and political bite. Can't say I blame him, it's only been a couple of years since he started doing this stuff after years and years of doing comedy; I guess it seems like it's been forever since he really blew up after Get Out and everything he does is getting tons of attention.
He's also doing a couple of other stuff, he recently released Lorena (a documentary), co-created Last OG and Weird City (comedy series on different networks), and is doing voice work on Toy Story 4 with Key.

@8thDoctor - I see your point but I’d love to see him do action adventure fantasy with a comedy twist .

Kinda more disturbed about Jordan Peele producing a documentary about how Lorena Bobbit is the victim after mutilating that dude's genitalia..

Who would've thought this guy...

would be hailed as a genius director? And he's just getting started. Can Marvel call him up for a future movie?
