@BreakTheCode - Nah, he sounds scarier (less cheesy) than Tim Curry's IT.

Somehow Tim Curry looked much more terrifying.

@jj2112 - Much more terrifying. He looked like a real clown and as far as I can recall pretty spot on from the book as well. I don't dislike the new design and I understand the idea of using the Renaissance look to give the audience the impression that Pennywise has been around for centuries, which is a nice idea. But I wish they had kept that look for only a few scenes (like when the kids are finding out about Derry history and it's dark secrets) and went with a more classic look.

So far I'm sadly not impressed by this new Pennywise, who looks and sounds like he could be from American Horror Story.

Tim Curry had the charm and charisma of It and it felt believable (or as much as it could be) that he was able to lure all those kids close to him.

@nasamutalisk - Yes, he was the best thing in the previous adaptation. Not that it was terrible, but in this case the book was much better. I still remember a scene from the book where Pennywise kills a boy near the water tower and, while he's dying, the kid's looking for a zipper on the back of the monster with his hands because he doesn't believe that can be real. Funny and terrifying at the same time.
