BOX OFFICE: JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE Has Now Beaten JUSTICE LEAGUE Worldwide

More embarrassing news for Justice League today as it's been revealed that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has beaten the DC Comics adaptation at the worldwide box office. Here are all the latest figures.

This time last year, pretty much everyone would have guessed that Justice League would be a box office hit. While the reception to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was always going to hurt the DC Comics adaptation, Joss Whedon's involvement and the trailers all pointed to it being a massive success. That sadly wasn't the case and the superhero ensemble was a critical and commercial flop.

Well, "flop" may be an overstatement but given how much Warner Bros. spent on Justice League, it was a massive disappointment for the studio and it continues falling down the charts at the worldwide box office. With a current haul of $654.4 million, the movie has now been beaten by Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle because that passed $666.17 million globally over the weekend. That's gotta hurt!

After all, the signs were all pointing to that being one of 2017's biggest disappointments despite the involvement of Dwayne Johnson (there was controversy surrounding Karen Gillen's skimpy outfit and the buzz surrounding the trailers wasn't overly positive). Warner Bros. is going back to the drawing board with the DC Films now and while a Jumanji sequel seems likely, Justice League 2 doesn't.

@Chaos200 -

Well, look on the bright side. At least the DCEU was more successful than Universal’s Dark Universe. Am I right?

@Dasher91 - I REALLY wanted Justice League to succeed.

Marvel Studios simply has the better formula in the superhero field.

As for Jumanji version whatever, I probably won't even watch the pirated version.
