"We live in a society..."

The Joker (Jared Leto) uttered this infamous line to Batman (Ben Affleck) in the final trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, but their conversation actually played out slightly differently in the movie. Now, Snyder has taken to Twitter to share an alternate version of the epilogue scene from the black-and-white "Justice is Grey" edition of ZSJL that's now streaming on HBO Max.

Here, Joker uses the line in response to Batman promising to honor Harley Quinn's dying wish to have the Dark Knight kill Mr. J (and he will f*cking kill him) slowly, but Joker's taunt about murdering Robin is also a little different.

Check out the scene in the player below, and let us know which version you think works best.

In Zack Snyder's Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes.

Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Tell us, have you watched ZSJL yet? If so, what did you think? You can check out my review HERE.

Not crazy about Leto Joker, but he actually came off menacing to me in the Snyder Cut.

@ModHaterSLADE - I thought he was haunting and intense in a good way, but man his laugh is awful, my ears hate it. I understand his thinking behind the laugh, it’s unsettling and so on, I just wish it was more like Mark Hamill’s laugh, it’s the only Joker laugh I’ve ever hated.

Shouldn't have cut this line, caps off the scene really well. Overall, still feel Jared Leto's line reading is too mannered and over the top, but this was roughly 8 million percent better than Suicide Squad.
