JUSTICE LEAGUE: Henry Cavill On Huge Moment With Superman & The Team And Why They Can't Exist Without Him

With less than a week to go until Justice League hits theaters, we still don't know the method of Superman's return. That's no bad thing, of course, especially as it's a mystery which we've all been debating for the past year and a half! In a new interview, Henry Cavill has discussed his return as the Man of Steel and quite possibly spoiled the moment the hero first meets up with the iconic team.

"It's very, very surreal. This is a wonderful job. I love my job, especially when I'm playing Superman, but sometimes you do start to feel the wear and tear of a long day. There was one point where I was standing in one of the huge green screen sets - which can be quite draining in itself, because it's a very bright, aggressive green - and I was standing there at the top of these big stairs, thinking how hungry I am, and looking forward to getting to bed...and then I had this moment when I suddenly realised that Cyborg, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman were all standing there, and it looked so fantastic. All of a sudden, my tiredness slipped away. I wasn't hungry any more. I just wanted to live in this moment and remember that I'm doing the thing that I wanted to do as a kid. I'm essentially playing Super Heroes, but as real as it gets as an adult. I'm very thankful for that kind of thing."

The scene Cavill is describing definitely sounds like the one which has been heavily featured in Justice League's trailers as the heroes stand side by side near what appears to be Superman's memorial in Metropolis. Whether or not that's his first scene with them obviously remains to be seen for now!

As for what iteration of Superman we're getting here, Cavill said "Geoff [Johns] and I have been delving into the history of the character to get to the core of who Superman is," before adding: "This is the first time we see the true Superman. The Superman who is confident, and sure, and full of hope and joy." That latter remark is definitely one which will please a lot of comic book fans!

As for how the Man of Steel fits into the team, Cavill made it clear that there's no Justice League without Superman. "It's much like the United States with the League of Nations. Without that keystone, the Justice League doesn't really work. It's still a fantastic group of people, but Superman tends to be the heavy hitter of the League. He sometimes takes a leadership role, but most of the time it's Batman who takes a leadership role. Superman is more the moral compass for the League."

Everything here sounds awesome and the signs appear to be pointing to Justice League delivering the definitive version of Superman. Do Cavill's comments get you more

People saying his face is very weird because of the 'stache.

I thought that was only a rumor but it turnes out it's a problem that will actually show on screen.
