Ryan Reynolds Talks JUSTICE LEAGUE; "It Would Certainly Be A Challenge"

Comments made during the San Diego Comic-Con have seemingly made it clear that Ryan Reynolds has moved on from Hal Jordan, and in the following interview, the Green Lantern star briefly shares his thoughts on the possibility of reprising the role in Justice League. It doesn't sound likely!

Talking in the latest issue of Total Film Magazine, R.I.P.D. (which is yet another 2013 superhero movie getting a mauling from critics) star Ryan Reynolds was asked about his previous experiences with the comic book movie genre. Obviously I've worked on films in that world, that didn't work," he said, clearly referring to Blade: Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern. However, as to whether or not he would be open to reprising the latter role in Warner Bros.' rumoured Justice League movie, the actor remained coy. Reading through the lines, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's clearly not something he either believes moviegoers want to see or that he himself is desperate for. "I don't even know if the the studio's going to make that...but it would certainly be a challenge. If they do, I hope it's great. We saw how well Joss Whedon did it with The Avengers, so we'll see." Would you like to see Ryan Reynolds return as Hal Jordan or is it time to start over? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

I don't hate Green Lantern but it wasn't good.

It was meh. The reason I mainly dislike is that it was DC trying to make a Marvel film.

DC does well in a more serious type film, not fun type film.

Making a Justice League film would not be hard at all. Just give Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman, Martian Manhunter & Aquaman a film first. Then you can show the new Green Lantern in the Justice League film. Then he can get his own film series. I for one think if Ryan can't understand how a JL film would work why not get someone that thinks it can instead.

RYAN REYNOLDS along with that HACK bitch GOYER destroyed and ended the BLADE franchise with that TRINITY shiitt!! Snipes almost kicked GOYERS azz over the script before filming...FACT!!!

RYAN REYNOLDS along with bad writing destroyed the outcome of GREEN LANTERN do to the fact he thought he was still playing DEADPOOL from WOLVERINE:X-MEN ORIGINS.

SAD!!

@StarlordX

it wasn't that bad. Entertaining, to say at the least.
I've seen worse. Crow 4, Punisher: War Zone, Cowboys and Aliens, just to name a few.

Green lantern was not as bad as people think. I'm laying that out as a fact. It was far from the best cam, but it was entertaining. Ryan Reynolds did a fantastic job as green lantern. I've been reading gl comics for the last 20 years, and he played the part as good as any.

The guy is not a bad actor, he has been a part of bad films. I am hoping he reprises the role, and the movie is given to more capable hands as far as writing, and direction goes. Its easy to trash a movie without giving its proper merits.

I'M ALL FOR REYNOLDS AS GL IN FUTURE FILMS. And I know I'm not the only one.

Who reboots after one film?

Seriously.

Maybe after a trilogy but reboot after one film?

Reynolds is a curse for CBMs. Every CBM he touches is destroyed in the box office and it has definitely taken a toll on his stardom.

He needs to stay the f*** away from, not only GL, but DC heroes as a whole!!

He was a terrible casting choice, it was the first red flag for me when I heard of it and it got me worried but I tried to stay positive but Jesus, that movie was just a HORRIBLE film in every sense of the word, especially when it comes to overall film-making!

In order for GL to be cool again he will have to be the Hulk of the JL, recast him and write him in a way that people will want to see more of him. And of course, gotta stick with all originals, even Hal Jordan.

John Stewart is cool, but there needs to be a reason for Hal not protecting Earth for him to come along. Hal comes first, then Stewart.

@LEVITIKUZ - The Hulk technically rebooted after 1 film, lol. But that obviously didn't work out so well even if the film was decent, pretty good IMO.

The only way GL will make money now would be to re-introduce him in JL, with a talented, mostly unknown actor and write him in a way where people will resonate with him and want to see more of him. Then and only then will a reboot work successfully.

Hulk wasnt really rebooted.

When did Hulk end?

South America.

Where did we see Hulk to start TIH?

South America.

See my point? Continuity!!!

They'd have to go with a different GL in a JL movie. Has to be a diverse team, so most likely John Stewart. Rumor has it that he's being killed in the New 52. Fans will get in an uproar. They'll bring him back from the dead, and fans get interested and buy more books. BAM! He's in the movie. Allways follow the books.

Here is my thing with Hal being Hulk.

Yes Hulk was great in Avengers but can he be great by himself?

With Hal, of course he will look awesome when he also has Batman, Superman, and others with him.

But can you have him be awesome alone?

Even Marvel has yet to prove this with Hulk.
