Zack Snyder's decision to choose Steppenwolf as the lead villain of Justice League always seemed a tad ill-advised but it was ultimately Joss Whedon who was responsible for much of what we saw of the character (which is why he looked worse in some scenes than others). Clearly, voice actor Ciaran Hinds was not happy with that because he's reportedly expressed his disappointment with the theatrical cut.
Hinds was at this fan event with the rest of the movie's cast (aside from Ben Affleck), so it's hard not to wonder if they all feel the same way! None of them can be happy with the critical response Justice League has received anyway but no matter how much Hinds or anyone else would like to see Snyder's version of the movie hit DVD and Blu-ray, the chances of that happening are between slim and none.
Danny Elfman only scored footage which made it into the final cut - when he wasn't working with storyboards - and the expense of finishing off all that uncompleted CGI just wouldn't be worth it, especially as home video sales are likely to be relatively low based on Justice League's box office performance. Throw in the fact Whedon totally changed the movie and Hinds will remain unhappy.
