The JUSTICE LEAGUE Cast On The DC Heroes They'd Like To See Join The Team In The Sequel
The Justice League stars speak to MTV about their personal picks for additions to the JL roster and they all agree another female hero is sorely needed to accompany Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.
When asked by MTV about the heroes they'd like to see added to the team in a Justice League sequel, Ben Affleck quickly responds, "Black Canary. We could use more women." Henry Cavill echoes that sentiment but names Supergirl as the heroine he'd like to see added. Cyborg actor Ray Fisher then names a certain backwards -speaking spellcaster which humorously confuses Ezra Miller. "It would be scary having that sword around," quips Miller, thinking Fisher said Katana instead of Zatanna. "The fishnets," corrects Affleck.
The cast explains that adding another female hero would create a different dynamic on the team, as Wonder Woman is the lone female and has to shoulder the weight of carrying the only female viewpoint on the team. Ezra Miller then puts forward the idea that a female Green Lantern could join the team, an idea that resonates with the rest of the cast. Luckily for them, DC Films co-Chair Geoff Johns just created the first female Green Lantern from Earth, Jessica Cruz back in the pages of 2014's Justice League Vol 2 #30.
Aquaman actor Jason Moma closes out the discussion with the begrudging recognition that Aquaman would like have to bring his wife, Mera on the next adventure.
Justice League hits theaters in just a few days on Friday, November 17. The film was directed by Zack Snyder who stepped away from the project during post-production due to a family tragedy. Joss Whedon stepped in to film an additional two-months of reshoots. Whedon would go on to guide the film through the editing process and "reportedly" made significant changes to the film, primarily through the removal of several scenes and characters. A sequel film was originally slated to arrive in theaters on June 2019 but was place back in creative development as Warner Bros. looked to reshuffle its film line-up. Zack Snyder was original set to return for the sequel but several subsequent reports have implied that Snyder's time in the DC Films Universe is over.
