JUSTICE LEAGUE Producer Charles Roven Says Joss Whedon Hasn't Made The Movie A Comedy
Joss Whedon brought humour to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way with The Avengers but has he done the same with Justice League? Here's what producer Charles Roven has to say about the matter.
If you want to blame someone for Marvel's movies embracing humour in such a big way, you should probably single out Joss Whedon. After all, he was the one who brought that to The Avengers and made Marvel Studios realise that they could build entire franchises (Guardians of the Galaxy, for example) around laughs. The question is, has Justice League now become a full-on laugh riot?
Whedon is responsible for extensive reshoots and was hired by Warner Bros. to add humour and lightness to the DC Films Universe so it would make sense if that had happened due to his involvement.
Well, during a recent interview, Justice League producer Charles Roven promised fans that they have nothing to worry about. "I really don’t know how to break down the scenes that [Joss] wrote with Zack versus the scenes that he wrote later. If you take ‘Man of Steel,’ ‘Batman v Superman’ and ‘Justice League’ as a trilogy — they were all directed by Zack, with the third one having some influence by Joss — I would say this is the lightest of the three. That doesn’t mean it’s a comedy!"
Is what Roven is saying accurate? We'll find out on November 17th but if it's worked for Marvel Studios all these years, it could work for Warner Bros. too! What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
