JUSTICE LEAGUE's Ben Affleck Reveals That Both He And Matt Damon Read For The Role Of Robin In Their Youth
Ben Affleck may be the latest actor to play Batman, but during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last night, the Justice League star revealed that he also read for the role of Robin - along with Matt Damon!
Ever since Ben Affleck took on the role of Batman there have been jokes about his pal Matt Damon joining him in The DCEU as Robin, and as it turns out, The Martian actor actually had a brush with playing The Dark Knight's sidekick many years ago.
While appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night, Affleck revealed that both he and Damon read for the part of Robin in Tim Burton's Batman back in the day.
Of course, neither actor landed the role (the character was actually cut from the film in the end), but Affleck still wishes his friend had been cast. “We were both pretty sure we got the part,” the Justice League star reminisced. "I wish to God he had gotten that part.”
Justice League hits theatres this weekend. The review embargo doesn't lift until Thursday, but you can get some idea of the initial reaction right HERE.
