Zack Snyder's Justice League star Ray Fisher has responded to last night's damning Rolling Stone report, calling out writer Tatiana Siegel for penning a "contrived hit piece."

Late last night, Rolling Stone published a piece (you can find all the details here) which made some damning claims about the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement and the divisive filmmaker himself.

The news that an unusually high percentage of "bots" (fake accounts) were responsible for keeping the movement going and fueling online backlash against Warner Bros. probably won't come as a surprise to most, but it's also been suggested that Zack Snyder may have been the driving force behind some of the more targeted attacks (they stop just short of outright accusing him, however).

According to the report, Snyder was even heard to have threatened to "destroy" Geoff Johns and Jon Berg on social media for their part in (supposedly) doing their best to diminish his creative control over the movie.

Ray Fisher, who was given a much more extensive role as Cyborg in the director's cut of Justice League, was also dragged in. It's heavily implied that the actor and Snyder may have been working in tandem in an effort to discredit Johns, Berg, Toby Emmerich, and Joss Whedon, who was brought in to finish/reshoot Justice League when Snyder parted ways with the project.

Fisher declined to respond to Rolling Stone, but has now taken to social media to share his rebuttal.

As you can see, Fisher remains defiant, referring to the report as a "contrived hit piece" while suggesting writer Tatiana Siegel may be seeking payback for a prior grievance.

What do you guys make of this? Do you believe Rolling Stone's report, or do you buy Fisher's claims that it's nothing more than a targeted hit piece? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

So, an article like this published mere hours before the re-release of ZSJL on digital is a "contrived hit piece", but Ray's targetted campaign against the original's director to promote this bloated remake wasn't?

Cool story, Ray. Now why don't you tell us about your buddy Ezra?
