We know that Zack Snyder shot scenes for Justice League with an actor suited up as Green Lantern John Stewart, and their identity has finally been revealed. Talking during yesterday's Justice Con virtual event, the filmmaker confirmed that Wayne T. Carr shot scenes as the iconic DC Comics superhero.

For those of you who may not know, Snyder hoped to include this member of the Green Lantern Corps in his cut of the movie before Warner Bros. stepped in and asked him not to due to their own plans for the character. As a result, that final scene with Bruce Wayne saw Stewart replaced by Martian Manhunter.

"Jojo [Aguilar] did that based on the actor that we used," Snyder said of the concept art above. "[It's] a guy named Wayne T. Carr. I told [him], 'Look, there's a chance that this doesn't make it in the movie. We are shooting it in my driveway.' He's amazing and I was talking to him the other day and he loved the movie. He was super excited for everyone and the reception the film has gotten."

As for what he wore on set, Snyder explained: "We had made him a CG suit, because it was COVID, and we couldn't really do a real suit. I mean, the mandate was to make it look as physical as possible. What I had seen was, of course, not finished, but I was very confident that even if we were to see him again, and we had to make him a real suit, it would match exactly."

Carr has only a handful of acting credits to his name, including Stuck in the MiddleS.W.A.T., and Stupid Cupid. He certainly looks the part of John Stewart, though, as you can see below:

I haven't seen him in anything so I can't judge how good he'd be in the role.

But as far as shoehorning GL in JL plans are concerned, Zack is the real life incarnation of this dude:

@RageDriver2401 - that game is such a masterpiece

@RageDriver2401 - I don’t think it would’ve been shoehorned. Green lantern would’ve been the one that convinced Martian manhunter to convince Lois to get off her ass. It’s the circle of life

@DoubleD - Especially after all Whedon stuff that came out i'm pretty sure his Avengers movies are only as good as they are bc Feige was there to reign him in

@Ha1frican - look, with all the news about his behavior about Buffy I agree whedons an a hole, but it really has nothing to do with the actual quality. Whedon gave us plenty of classics like firefly and Buffy. He's clearly got talent.

@Origame - agreed. He was and may very well still be an ass but his content over the years has been really enjoyable. From firefly and serenity, to cabin in the woods to avengers.

@Ace101 - exactly. Call him out for what's actually wrong instead of making things up.

@dragon316 - 1) so the actual casting for John Stewart is the same race as the fan casting, yet that proves fan casting is racist? Shouldn't this prove fan casting is accurate?

2) if you remember the last time we talked about fan casting, let me translate this message to what you actually mean: "and yet this is not choice of pizza does Hollywood delicious pizza this proves it again". You're welcome.

The scene would have made more sense with Green Lantern. Bruce was a little too unfazed by Martian Manhunter. If it was a human, like John Stewart or Hal Jordan, his reaction would have been more believable. Cool to see MM though.
