Kevin Feige Confirms Plans For A POWER PACK Movie And Hints At The Possibility Of YOUNG AVENGERS
While doing the press rounds for Ant-Man and The Wasp, Kevin Feige commented on the rumors that the Power Pack kids and the teenage heroes of The Young Avengers might be making their way to The MCU...
There have been rumors of a Power Pack movie going into development for some time now, although we never really heard anything solid and it's been years since anyone even mentioned the potential project.
More recently, speculation that Marvel might be planning a Young Avengers film grew when Blended actress Emma Fuhrmann was cast as an older incarnation of Scott Lang's daughter Cassie (a.k.a Stature) in Avengers 4.
As it turns out, there's a chance we will see both of these movies at some point, but for the moment, it sounds like they're really just ideas that are being kicked around at Marvel.
Kevin Feige fielded a few questions on the possibility of these younger heroes joining The MCU while doing press for Ant-Man and The Wasp. Heroic Hollywood asked him if a certain exchange between Scott and his daughter in the sequel could pave the way for Cassie to suit-up for The Young Avengers some day.
"Well, sure...so where and when we would see the evolution of that? I don’t know. And certainly – taking our cue from the comics as we always do – that’s why we wanted Cassie, a very young Cassie in this movie, to be inspired by her father. Just planting seeds.”
Then in a separate interview with Screen Rant, Feige touched on the studio's tentative plans for The Power Pack.
"Power Pack is a property that we’ve been interested in for a long time. For many years because we wanted to do something for families, something that’s a little younger, Ant-Man has kind of become that franchise, certainly with Ant-Man and the Wasp, but Power Pack still is one of the many things that we discuss, wouldn’t it be fun to do someday?”
What do you guys think? Any interest in either or both of these properties being developed? Drop us a comment below.
