We've been hearing rumblings that Werewolf by Night will be a departure from the norm for Marvel Studios, and the first trailer and poster for the Halloween special definitely point to it being unlike anything we've seen from the MCU before.
The zany, and actually very creepy, sneak peek is presented in black and white and looks absolutely bonkers. It stops short of showing us what Werewolf by Night will actually look like, but we do get to see Man-Thing! There have been rumors that the character might be a big part of this "Special Presentation," and he looks awesome.
Tonally, Werewolf by Night is vastly different to Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, for example, and actually looks like a horror movie. It obviously won't be R-Rated, but looks legitimately scary and probably won't be something kids will be watching when it arrives on Disney+ on October 7.
Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly have been confirmed as the show's leads, while composer Michael Giacchino will indeed be stepping behind the camera to make his directorial debut.
It certainly looks like he's got a good grasp on the action, though, and Marvel Studios seems to have taken this opportunity to delve into the comic books and introduce some relatively obscure horror characters in the process. What that will mean for the MCU's future is unclear, though we'd be shocked if this story doesn't somehow inform a movie like Blade.
We'll update this post soon as an official synopsis and cast list are likely incoming, though don't be surprised if that Man-Thing casting is kept under wraps.
