Kevin Feige Confirms Plans For A POWER PACK Movie And Hints At The Possibility Of YOUNG AVENGERS

While doing the press rounds for Ant-Man and The Wasp, Kevin Feige commented on the rumors that the Power Pack kids and the teenage heroes of The Young Avengers might be making their way to The MCU...

There have been rumors of a Power Pack movie going into development for some time now, although we never really heard anything solid and it's been years since anyone even mentioned the potential project.

More recently, speculation that Marvel might be planning a Young Avengers film grew when Blended actress Emma Fuhrmann was cast as an older incarnation of Scott Lang's daughter Cassie (a.k.a Stature) in Avengers 4.

As it turns out, there's a chance we will see both of these movies at some point, but for the moment, it sounds like they're really just ideas that are being kicked around at Marvel.

Kevin Feige fielded a few questions on the possibility of these younger heroes joining The MCU while doing press for Ant-Man and The Wasp. Heroic Hollywood asked him if a certain exchange between Scott and his daughter in the sequel could pave the way for Cassie to suit-up for The Young Avengers some day.

"Well, sure...so where and when we would see the evolution of that? I don’t know. And certainly – taking our cue from the comics as we always do – that’s why we wanted Cassie, a very young Cassie in this movie, to be inspired by her father. Just planting seeds.”

Then in a separate interview with Screen Rant, Feige touched on the studio's tentative plans for The Power Pack.

"Power Pack is a property that we’ve been interested in for a long time. For many years because we wanted to do something for families, something that’s a little younger, Ant-Man has kind of become that franchise, certainly with Ant-Man and the Wasp, but Power Pack still is one of the many things that we discuss, wouldn’t it be fun to do someday?”

What do you guys think? Any interest in either or both of these properties being developed? Drop us a comment below.

Start the team small and bring in Iron Lad and the rest down the line. Could be awesome if they bring back Harley for this and somehow integrate Amadeus Cho

@OmegaDaGrodd - Harley should be Iron Lad. He grows up to be Kang and goes back in time to kill the Young Avengers (his future enemies). It should be inspired by Terminator 2.

Don't shoot the messenger but I have a friend who works closely with one of the main cast members who was at ACE this past week and he heavily hinted that Marvel would be making a surprise appearance at SDCC.

Yeaaaaah I mean I trust Marvel and Feige after they managed to successfully pull off such obscure characters like Groot, Rocket and Ant-Man but ... I really do not want a Power Pack ... I don't think most people will want that either where there are so many other cool heroes and films to be done that haven't been addressed yet.

All in for a Young Avengers but lets not go too young or silly ... could be a nice way to move Wanda's story forward by making her the first major on-screen mother of super heroes (albeit for Elastigirl)...

Give us Namor and FF and X-Men depending on where the rights are by the time phase four rolls around. And then do a number on the sequels to the first-timers of phase three - Doc Strange, Captain Marvel, Pantha. And if we are gonna get some quirky characters gracing the big screen for the first time in phase four please Marvel just make sure they're not silly like Power Pack (not trying to offend any major fans of PP)

Anywho, I have tremendous faith in Feige to see it all done right

@MikeNolan - power pack isn’t for us and for more younger viewers, like Feige stated.

I’m okay with Marvel doing some stuff for young viewers

As long as it's rated PG

Don't think I'm that interested in these possibilities but hey, it's for the families which is cool, and they could be good movies too.

Emma Fuhrmann's older Cassie might just be a cool ellaborate cameo if it is true that they are going to use some quantum mechanics to see many different outcomes based on decisions they choose to do to defeat Thanos with those "flash-sideways" like Evangeline Lilly teased ala Lost. I still like the young and adorable Cassie and like with Peter they should take it slow.

First time I hear about "Power Pack" though. Like ever.

I really think that an Tony is going to be overseeing a version of the Young Avengers while he is director of Sheild in Avengers 4.

@CurlyBill - I'd be down for that, but I'd rather have Rick Jones oversee them like Coulson did. It's about time he was brought into the MCU.

They need to wait on the young avengers . We already have new avengers who have to make their mark (spiderman, black panther, wasp, strange, capt marvel). We can't have them coexist. I'd be cool with young avengers in a phase 5.5

So much of Young Avengers was born out of storylines that never happened in the MCU... Vizh & Wanda’s kids, Kang, etc. Even the Patriot requires the revision that Stanley Tucchi’s Dr. Erskine from the First Avenger tested his formula on African Americans before making a big deal out of so carefully choosing Steve Rogers. It would have to be a very loose adaptation.

Rather than Power Pack, I think Marvel should make a Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur film for kids.

@Chewtoy - Big yes to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

They can bootstrap a Young Avengers team out of Spider-Man/Shuri/Harley/Cassie and a strategic new character or two, but they aren't "the Young Avengers" in terms of the comics. It might be worth doing that for it's own sake, but maybe give them a different name... Maybe have them called "the Ultimates", since that was always a silly title, but it would sound endearing coming from an enthusiastic Ant-Girl.
