DC's answer to the X-Men (or was it the other way around?) will become a feature film.

Warner Bros. will bring Doom Patrol to the big screen as a feature film, according to Variety. Akiva Goldsman will produce from Adam Turner’s screenplay.

Fans have argued for years whether the DC's Doom Patrol -- a group of socially ostracized heroes with freakish powers led by a wheelchair-bound leader – was a knock-off of Marvel's X-Men or the other way around.

The Doom Patrol originally consisted of Robot Man, Elasti-Girl, Negative Man and the Chief. The group, led by Mento instead of the Chief, appeared as guest-stars on the animated Teen Titans series last year and there's been talk of the group getting its own cartoon series.
