Speculations on Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 and Phase 5

While Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 is set to begin with Ant Man next Year, lets discuss how Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios should do Phase 4 and Phase 5.

Editorial Opinion

For Phase 4, films that we are expecting Marvel to do are;

1. Iron Man 4

2. Daredevil

3.Incredible Hulk 2

4. Luke Cage and Iron Fist

5.Possible Spider-Man film

6. Iron Man 5

7.Captain America 4

8.Untiled Avengers 4 film

the villains for the 4th Avengers film are to be the Masters of Evil and since Feige and the rest of the studio have been doing many characters and film plots with such heavily creative changes, they should try being more creative on the team's line up of villains here in the MCU and the leader of the MCU's Masters of Evil should be the Mandarin (the real Mandarin of the Ten Rings who has not debuted yet) and as the leader of the Masters of Evil in MCU Phase 4, the Mandarin will debut in Iron Man 4 and with Iron Man 4 serving as Phase 4's first MCU film, from there after his first battle with Iron Man, the Mandarin should then start making arrangements on having a team of remarkable people for his own cause and in the next wave of films, the Mandarin is to recruit a villain or two in each of them before the 4th Avengers and the Fourth Avengers should also feature the line up of heroes for the MCU's New Avengers and for the Mandarin's Masters of Evil in the MCU, it wouldn't hurt for the name of the team of villains to be refered to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Masters of Order, the Masters of Shadows or the Masters of Vengeance which is kind of like Christopher Nolan having the League of Assassins refered to as the League of Shadows. Mostly it's because "Evil" in the name of the supervillain team wouldn't seem flawless enough for the MCU films that it's too much of a cartoon sounding name plus the motive and goals needs to be something more than just taking over the world as well as everyother villains' intentions in the movies go these day.

And why should the real Mandarin be the leader of the Masters of Evil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the main villain in Avengers 4? Well other than how big a setback that the twist along with how wrong Feige and his people tried doing the character in a different way and other than the fact that the actual version of the villain is still out there as the real leader of the Ten Rings, it's because Marvel Studios did not have Iron Man 4 mapped out for Phase 3 which leads onto making us wait longer for the movie and the real proper version of the character to happen and because of how powerful the Mandarin is with all different kinds powers stored within each of his rings individually which makes him a much more specific leader of the Masters of Evil than Baron Zemo, the Mandarin is very much more of an Avengers level supervillain than just a hero's standalone villain plus making him the MCU leader of the Masters of Evil in Phase 4 should give the Studio more time to explore more on the villain in the cinematic films and this is the best line up of villains that the MCU has to offer:

Mandarin (Leader)

Kingpin

Scorpion

Mangler

Abomination

Moonstone

Crossbones or Grim Reaper

and now for Phase 5 films to expect

1.Dr.Stange Sequel

2.Ghost Rider Reboot

3.Incredible Hulk 3

4.Iron Man 6

5.Possible Spider-Man sequel

6.Untitled Avengers 5 film

The 5th phase is expected to be the final phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for this phase, the primary villain is to be the Hood, a villain who got his powers from Dormammu and became the leader of a supervillain organization/team named after himself now here is a list of the villains we want for the MCU line up of the Hood

The Hood (Leader)

Deathwatch

Blackout

Ufoes

Shocker

Shockwave

Crusader

Mr. Fear

Living Laser

Grey Gargoyle

Surely we cannot expect all the villains from the comics to join up with the hood in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so this amount of villains will have to do in the mean time please do not expect any of the phase 3 films to tease any Skrulls because the infamous Secret Invasion storyline cannot work in the films without the Fantastic Four since their field commander Super Skrull possesses the ability of all four of them and it would involve a huge amount of heroes and villains for the Skrulls to tries disguising themselves as and it's to overwhelming and too chaotic for the films to handle because afterall, there are other things and characters that we want Marvel to bring out that are more earthbound so unless a Phase 6 happens, don't bother with Secret Invasion. So in the mean time, keep your eyes open for more updates on ups

@PredatorRising I doubt they'll do a daredevil or Heroes for hire movie but everything else on that list are very plausible

Thank you @ZeoTV, besides everything else in this article, it was rumored that Daredevil and Heroes for Hire would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the Netflix shows based on the characters are done

Sorry @Omarvls but Dr. Strange 2 is recommended for Phase 5, the Hulk sequel maybe done as Industructible Hulk, but Black Panther 2, I wouldn't be so sure, and Inhumans 2? Why bother with that along with MoonKnight, War of Kings and Punisher? And how can they do a Captain Marvel sequel? It's best to stick with what I have in this Article instead of going off track with anymore overpopulating suggestions because I pay attention to the news on actors and how many films they are signed up for

Bullshit to all of this. Marvel's getting into a beat of doing one sequel for every introduction movie, and your idea of Phase 4 is just a bunch of Iron Man, Cap and Hulk sequels with a Spidey movie thrown in? Yeah, we'll all forget about Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange, I wanna see Iron Man 6 goddammit!

WTF?

Nice writeup, but most of it will probably not happen. Have no interest whatsoever in seeing a proper Mandarin being done on the big screen either. Going from such a powerful main villain as Thanos in Phase 3 and then transitioning to these "lackey" baddies such as the Hood in the next Avengers films also seems pretty preposterous to speculate on.

Namor
Dr Strange 2
Captain Marvel 2
A new Hulk Film
Marvel's Illuminati (Considering the event after infinity wars)
Runaways
Hands of Shang Chi.....Those are my thoughts

Pretty uninspired, a lot of reboots and sequels. Also lulz @ the thinking that we'll get Spider-Man at Marvel Studios.

@PredatorRIsing drop the holier than thou act. @Omarvls had a very good suggestion and your suggestions clearly aren't Marvel Studios only options. I personally disagree with both of your on quite a few of your choices but agree on others but @PredarorRIsing acting like only you pay attention to news and actor contracts discredits you imho as nothing but someone pushing an agenda.

For example War of Kings is an insanely likely possibity as it could tie in the Inhumans, Kree, Guardians of the Galaxy, and any other races Marvel Studios chooses to add. Plus it'd be a Game of Thrones fighting for the crown genre which would only capitalize on a popular market that by then likely is looking for the next thing like Game of Thrones (which by phase 4 likely will be over).

I agree that Moon Knight and Punisher are far more likely to be Netflix material but you never stated that in your dismissile of it, so you could have handled that better. BTW I totally disagree with you on your Daredevil movie and Luke Cage/Iron Fist movies for the same reason and much of the rest of your suggestions are just Captain America and Iron Man Ad Nauseum which will cause superhero fatigue. Ever expanding out and leaving the audience wanting more are the keys to keeping this going. I personally find your suggestions way worse for Marvel Studios long term success due to this.

Further #2 movies are very likely for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Inhumans (which could be War of Kings or not). Simply put all the actors for phase 3 movies will be getting multimovie contracts too and Marvel will do their best of picking a great balance of giving us which more of the ones that sold the best, thematically buildup to the next Avengers and/or Guardians of the Galaxy, keeping actors needs in mind (personal life such as Scarlet Johanson having a baby, balancing other movies they have to do, wanting to leave, getting too old, etc), and public consensus demands (such as Black Panther and Captain Marvel in phase 3 having huge public demand before they where announced).

Next off wth do you mean "how do they do a Captain Marvel sequal?" Are you being serious? They could do tons of things like set up the new Ms Marvel, send her off into space, have the Kree come to Earth, give her a brain tumor, send her back in time, have her fight HAMMER (just with new villain running it), etc... This seems like a failure of imagination or lack of knowledge of the character on your part.

I'd personally try to get the rights to Super-Skrulls from Fox (either by buying it or trading them something) and go Secret Invasion for phase 4 while tying it into War of Kings in the Cosmic Relm. After all we're getting tons of Kree stuff in phase 2 and 3 so capitalize on them further and set them up as phase 4 villain while building up phase 5 as the supernatural Doctor Strange stuff.

So not this but just to get a sence of my plan:

2019
- Indestructible Hulk 2 (late Summer, someone cause him to go full rage mode to breakup Avengers, in following movie it's revealed it was the Skrulls)
- Iron Man 4 (November, dealing with all the Inhumans and A.I.M. trying to experiment on them)

2020
- Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (May, deals wit Kree Skrull war)
- Black Widow (late summer, Spy Movie: have her uncover the Skrulls in effort to clear Hulks name as the movie that changes everything like Cap 2 and Thor 3 before it)
- Doctor Strange 2 (November, mostly set up for following phases might tie in Scarlet Witch)

2021
- Captain America 4 (May, Cap and some inhumans deals with evil Inhumans pushed to the limits by Hyrda/Aim/Skrull/general predjudices)
- Thor 4 The Tenth Relm (July, Ragnarok causes the Tenth Relm to reopen, Thor leaves Earth to find his lost Sister)
- Captain Marvel 2 (November, hard to say since no one knows what #1 is about and if earth based or cosmic but let's just say it's cosmic and ties-in with kree)

2022
- Avengers Secret Invasion part 1 (May, Skrulls go public Hulk and Thor missing)
- Black Panther 2 (july, Black Panther leaves to defend Wakonda from Invasion)
- Inhumans: War of Kings Inhumans (November, fight off Kree who attack earth once Skrulls get revealed in Avengers Secret Invasion part 1)

2023
-Avengers Secret Invasion part 2 (May, Thor and Hulk show back up and end invasion)

Again, not a plan I actually have or desires... just illustrating point of Marvel connecting everything and movies take 2-4 years to make so your Iron Man 4 and 5 aren't spaced out far enough now that Marvel us making 3 movies a year. Plus if Marvel can ever get Spider-man back they must work it in asap, so again I'm not attached to the movies here just using them as an example to illustrate a point

BarKells - 11/30/2014, 4:50 PM
I want them to start a R-rated universe with characters like Blade, Punisher, Ghost Rider, etc..
Or push the limits of PG-13. I honestly couldn't imagine somebody pulling off Blade the Wesley Snipes did thou. That's what you call owning the roll.

*sigh* I see predator rising is still writing articles. Let's see now, how many articles did you write about how Iron Man 4 was gonna be part of Phase 3 and how it would be more of a spy/James Bond type movie with Stark going against the "real" Mandarin (all because you completely misunderstood Feige saying that Iron Man could be a James Bond-type character, which actually meant other actors can play him.)?

This is clearly just more nonsense. Marvel introduces Black Panther, Capt. Marvel, and Inhumans in Phase 3 but are nowhere to be found later on? And where are GotG? Now, I imagine Marvel will wait to make sure the movies do well, but I can guarantee that more than likely all those movies will get sequels (Inhumans, imo, has the best chance of bombing and not getting a sequel of those movies.) Daredevil might get a movie someday, but I don't see Luke Cage or Iron Fist getting one. And I think Feige does still have some interest in a Black Widow movie. But, while I may be wrong, I would bet a month's salary that predator rising is wrong.

Is there any way to bookmark this editorial for when phase 4 is actually released? It's pretty clear that Marvel us trying to pass the torch to Dr. Strange, Black Panther and Captain Marvel in phase 3. I would be shocked if they didn't all get sequels. So I just wanted to save this post so I can come back and have a chuckle.

My fantasy Phase 4

Dr. Strange 2: The Mindless Ones: Strange battles Dormammu and his Mindless Ones from entering earth. I am assuming Dormammu is pulling the strings in Strange 1. If Marvel could find a way to introduce Brother Voodoo in Strange 2 would be awesome. Or even introduce Cloak and Dagger in Strange 2.

Thor 4: Stormbreaker; Thor, along with Sif, go searching for Surtur. Assuming Surtur plays a role in Ragnarok. Thor and Sif go on the offensive to stop Surtur from causing destruction in the cosmos. Along the way the meet a victim of Surturs, Beta Ray Bill. Thor realizes he alone cannot defeat Surtur. He seeks the aid of the Dwarfs, who in turn create Stormbreaker.

Black Panther 2: Uprising; I believe in AoU Wakanda will only be revealed to the world. The Avengers, along with T'Challa, stop Ultron before he can reach Wakanda. In Civil War I believe Wakanda only plays a role in fixing Caps shield. T'Challa joins Civil War because he disagrees with the registration and believes he and Wakanda can no longer stand on the sidelines. In BP 1 I believe AIM, change it up from Hydra, try to enter Wakanda to of course get Vibranium. The villains will be Taskmaster and Scientist Supreme. Now in BP 2 M'Baku, with the aid of Hunter/White Wolf, start a rebellion against T'Challa. I want this film to completely take place in Wakanda.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3: The Phalanx; I believe in GotG 2, Warlock will be split into to separate physical forms due to the Aether. One being Warlock, with the Soul Gem, and the other being Magus, with the power of the Aether. With that being said, I believe in the 3rd film we will have two new members, Warlock and Mantis. The Guardians will receive a distress call from a planet being under attack by the Phalanx, and in need of aid. I believe this is when Moondragon makes her debut, different from her comic history, she will be under the Phalanx's control.

Captain Marvel 2: Warbird; I believe CM 1 will focus on Carol leaving earth, due too a message sent to her via Mar-Vell, warning of Thanos and his forces. I originally thought we we would see Richard Rider appear in Infinity War 1, I still believe he will play a prominent role in Infinity War. However I think CM 1 will have Carol going on the offensive against Thanos, instead of waiting for him. Along the way she gains an ally in Nova Centurion, Richard Rider. Now with that I believe CM 2 will focus on the Kree Empire. With the events of Infinity War the world's leaders create SWORD. The Kree empire decides to invade Earth, for strategic reasons. Mar-Vell volunteers to lead the army, only doing so to warn and aid Carol.

Nova 1: With Rider being introduced in CM 1, and playing a major role in Infinity War, the public will be ready for a Nova film. Rider seeks out other surviving Nova Officers through out the cosmos. He finds a lead on a Nova Officer, last name Alexander. Alexander us on the run from Titus, who wants the Nova helmet back. Sets up Sam Alexander at the end, and gives more info about the Nova Force. Also believe Xander will obviously be destroyed by Thanos in Infinity War 1.

Defenders 2: The Hood; Dare Devil, Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones team up for their big screen debut with a sequel to Defenders. They all must band together to stop a new Street Lird, only known as The Hood. They will also have a new Hero for Hire on the payroll, Scott Lang.

Avengers: Gamma; This roster will include Stark, Banner, Rhodey, T'Challa, Vision. This squad will face off against the Leader. The leader has been making Gamma monsters but has yet to create his masterpiece. He is frustrated with failing, he decides he needs Banners' blood to create his masterpiece. He sends forces against this group of Avengers, fails again. Abducts Jennifer, thinking it will bring Banner to him without the aid of his team. This does happen but the team finds Banner and try to rescue both of them. But first The Avengers must face the leader's masterpieces, a mind controlled She-Hulk and a creature very similar to Red Hulk, not Ross in the MCU.

Avengers: Thunderbolts: This roster includes Captain America, Falcon, Scarlett Witch, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Black Widow. Baron Zemo decides in order to rule the earth, he forms an uneasy alliance with the Leader, aids Leader in abducting Jennifer, this move helps get the East Coast Avengers out of the picture. Zemo decides to he needs a team to battle the West Coast Avengers. Zemo gathers Taskmaster, Crossbones, and his ace in the hole, Klaw. Klaw thought to be dead, was given modifications by Zemo and Hydra. He and Hydra also help create Songbird, and free an imprisoned Moonstone. Bucky too joins the Thunderbolts, as a mole of sorts. Zemo still believing Bucky has no memories, and is still the Winter Soldier, Bucky plays the part and turns the battle for the West Coast Avengers. Zemo defeated and imprisoned, is freed by Enchantress, who makes her debut in Ragnarok as Loki's hidden ally, and offered revenge against the Avengers, if he decides to join the Masters.

Avengers: Masters of Evil; Both teams must unite to defend earth against the Masters, never actually called Masters of Evil in the film just title. The team consists of Zemo, Leader, Red Hulk, Abomination, Klaw, and a surprising Justin Hammer, via his newly created Crymson Dynamo armor. Hammer also creates some drones and Leader creates a few monstrosities to aid the Masters. The Avengers have no clue about Enchantress, they simply think this is about revenge and getting rid of the Avengers to conquer thebplanet. However this is nothing more than a distraction for Enchantress' real motives, locating the Norse Stones for Loki, not all stones are here, just a few.

That is my fantasy for the film side of the MCU.

My fantasy Phase 4 Netflix Series

The Ghost Rider: I think 3 episodes of setting up Ghost Rider history is needed, tell story of the Western Ghost Rider. Than come current time with Johny Blaze living from city to city, trying to escape Mephisto. Flashbacks to his days as a youth before making the deal.

Punisher Max: Series picks up with Castle hunting down Jigsaw, who escaped New York to Detroit. Castle decides to take care of Jigsaw before completely punishing New York. Explains why Castle is not involved with battling The Hood. Castle eventually takes care of Jigsaw, and decides to go city to city cleaning them up, not having to worry about New York thanks to the Defenders.

SHIELDS Ultimates: Coulson creates SHIELD's version of the Avengers. This will take the place of AoS. The roster will include Mockingbird, War Machine (armor being worn by Wyatt Wingfoot), Ronin (Coulson decides to give Ward another shot, big reveal when we find out it is Ward), Union Jack, Deathlok, Agent 13. The team is used to battle AIMx Hydra, Zodiac, and other major terrorist organizations. I would love to see the team find a Zodiac test subject, name Isiah Bradley. Team battles Adaptoid too.

New Warriors: NightThrasher forms his New Warriors. Team consists of Thrasher, Cloak & Dagger, Nova (Sam Alexander), Speedball, Squirrel-Girl. Team battle city thugs mostly, filming adventures.

MileHighRonin
MileHighRonin - 12/4/2014, 12:09 PM
My fantasy Phase 5 Netflix Series

Moon Knight: The first two episodes should be a telling of the night Khonshu and Spector become one. I really hope it is gritty, and really becomes a psychological series. Is Spector truly endowed with powers, is he a vessel for Khonshu, or is he simply crazy? I would also like him to go back to Egypt for some episodes.

The Thunderbolts Series: Luke Cage is asked by Director Coulson to lead a new team under the supervision of SHIELD. Cage, Iron Fist, Songbird, Moonstone, Penance (not Speedball but Zemo, big reveal), Taskmaster, Deathlok and Quake (Coulson's insider). Coulson creates the team due to his belief that the Thunderbolts will go and what the Avengers will not do. He is fed up with Hydra and decides to chop off all heads, the Thunderbolts being his axe.

The Inhumans Series: I believe in the Inhumans film we will find out they have the Time Gem. It is slowing time in Attilan and this is what brings them into Infinity War. The city was initially in the Himalayas, after events of Infinity War it is moved to the Blue Area of the Moon.

Tales of Suspense: Think of Tales of the Crypt meets marvel. A number of characters around the MCU, including the cosmos. Man-Thing, WereWolf by Night, Howard the Duck, Brither Voodoo, Black Knight, Captain Britain. List can be endless.
