Superman-V.com has some interesting information on the status of Superman 5 (or whatever Jon Peters calls it these days). The article mentions five actors who might be under consideration, but i'll tell you one of them: Scott Speedman. Now i'll tell you my reaction: Interesting. This could work. MORE....

As I said, it could work. Of all the names i've heard so far, his is by far the more interesting one thrown out.

Here's the rest of what Superman-V.com had to say:

Superman-V has word on what exactly is going on with the McG/Peters Superman movie. Word from an uber-reliable source is that "they are still budgeting and JJ Abrams is doing a rewrite".

This source also said that this rewrite could be the one that will officially greenlight the film. One wonders how long the budgeting process takes on a movie like Superman.

S-V has come across a list of 5 actors who may be on the shortlist to play The Man of Steel. The source above commented on the situation: "As far as I know there is no one specifically yet that they've had discussions with about the lead". Despite this, it is never too early to be thinking about casting, you can bet the farm that names are being thrown around. McG even talked about 3 names that he had in mind for the lead, I doubt he kept them to himself.

Lastly, and take this with the biggest grain of salt you can find. Wolfgang Petersen has apparently asked David Benioff if he'd be interested in taking a crack at a Batman vs. Superman draft. Benioff has written Troy, the brilliant 25th Hour and Stay (which he sold for a cool $1.8 million). BvS is one of the many projects Petersen has at the studio, however I think he'll either move onto Ender's Game or something else after Troy. It'll take some monumental screw ups on Superman for them to even think about greenlighting BvS."
