Hey guys and gals, WYLEEJAY here! I was going to wait till next month to release my sequel to the first challenge, for two reasons…..One reason was because this month’s contest has articles flying out faster than the Millennium Falcon, and secondly, well, since they announced the Man of Steel sequel there have been a lot of VS articles. I changed my mind because my first challenge came out before the movie was announced, so I don’t feel it should be compared to the other ones. Gonna get compared anyway so why not. If any of you read the first article you know I challenged EVERYONE to face me in a debate on who could kick my favorite Mutants ass, Wolverine. Any character, from any company, and it was fun. I had a blast. I hope it was fun and different for the participants too. We had some interesting characters brought into the debate. Some odd ones(Invisible Man and Squirrel girl come to mind), and some others that just got a name drop and no debate. I told the participants there was two ways a character could win. By providing me with the best debate or by majority vote. Well we had some great picks and our Third place pick would be Spawn with a majority vote, and Second place went to Mace Windu with a better debate. The overall winner would be CBM user Dumegg and his pick, The Mighty Thor!
So we have our second bout, Wolverine vs Thor!
This time the rules are a little different. Basically I’m not playing this time. Hoorayyyyyyy for those of you that can’t stand me. Better reason for you to play then. It’s for fun so give it a try and see what happens. Your pretty much going to read the statistics I write down on both characters, and then argue amongst yourselves who would win. I’m going to give you guys three nights to debate, just like I did for part one. Then I’m going to add it up the old fashioned way(with a calculator, brain is kinda mushy, thank you Gusto and your GIFS of Sarah Jessica Parker for a solid couple years), and there will be, once again, two ways I will determine the winner. Whichever character gets the best debate(easiest way to determine that is to watch if this persons debate sways others), or by majority vote. You don’t feel like debating, just simply say one of their names, or better yet, you could just say, “ The best there is”, for Wolverine, or, ”For Asgard”, for Thor. Simple right?
Now one thing I noticed with part one. It wasnt absolutely clear to everyone what versions of characters were being used. I was pretty sure it was clear what version of Wolverine I was using, but lets make it crystal clear. I’m talking 616 comics Thor and Wolverine. Not movies, or Ultimate comics, or the XXX porn variations that DioFoRio likes to download. I don’t care what era Thor you use, because what I’m going to tell you next will ruin your, “Thor will just use the God blast on Wolverine and incinerate everything off his bones”, comments I know we will see. We have to consider their personalities in this bout. Half the battles in the comics take place around civilians, Thor won’t use his God Blast around them. You then say he would teleport Wolverine and then do it. Then I say that may work half the time. Half don’t cut it. Would Wolverine get to him before he spins his hammer and summons a portal. See, debatable. Problem number one is getting these two to fight in a scenario where they are themselves, yet won’t hold back against each other.
Easily fixed I say. Mephisto cast them both into another realm without them realizing it. No other Heroes or Villains to get in the way, but everyone else looks normal. Manhattan, that’s where it’s all going to go down. The only ones that look like demons to each other are these two. So no reason for them to hold back on a beatdown. They will both think their defending innocents from a demon. Yeah it’s a loose story and someone’s going to say Wolverine would smell them, but his sense of smell has been tricked before.
So now we have the playing field, the rules, the scenario, it’s time to get to know the competitors! First up we have The Savage Wolverine!
Wolverine is almost two hundred years old, and has been fighting in wars his whole life. He’s not afraid to do what he has to do in order to win a fight. In that long life span he has been a soldier, special ops operative, trained as a samurai, and one of the X men. He also has a bad temper, I mean BAD. Dude will go into a Berserker rage in the middle of a fight and quickly overwhelm opponents. His fighting skills are nothing to laugh at either. Wolverine is considered one of Marvels TOP martial artists. He’s a master of multiple forms. He’s able to go toe to toe with some of Marvels best, like Captain America. The problem in the comics is the writers usually use him as a plot device to demonstrate a villains power and he gets smacked around more than anything. Speaking of getting smacked around, his skeleton is coated in an indestructible metal called Adamantium. It cannot be melted, or broken. It’s made up of a couple different metals that once solidified cannot be altered. Only Magneto has demonstrated the power to alter it. Sorry movie fans but they got it wrong. His skull is capable of taking some serious hits too, he has fought the Hulk multiple times. With that metal on his bones you would think he would be pretty slow, but he’s not, because his Healing Factor compensates for the extra weight. It makes him faster and stronger. He is capable of lifting well over eight hundred pounds but not in excess of two tons. The most devastating weapon he brings to the bout are his claws. He has Six, foot long claws that can retract from between his knuckles. Since they are coated in Adamantium as well, they can cut through the toughest armor like a hot knife through butter. So even though Thor’s body is Asgardian and capable of taking a lot of punishment Wolverine can severely cut him. Decapitations and dismemberment isn’t out of the question in this fight. Wolverine’s senses are also extremely acute.
Next up we have The Mighty Thor!
Thor is definitely a lot older. Thousands of years old to be exact. The Asgardian’s are not true Immortals, because they do age, just at a really slow rate. Thor has also been fighting his whole life, and that means he has some serious experience. Thor has been a soldier, a prince, a king, and an Avenger. Odin had an affair with an Elder God named Gaea in order to have an heir to the throne that would surpass any other Asgardian. Because of this Thor is more powerful than any other Asgardian except Odin. Thor’s baseline strength is ranged in the 100 ton range, but like the Hulk has the potential to be unlimited. He once lifted the Midgard Serpent and it was so big it wrapped around the Earth. His body is much more dense than a human, to the point he is almost considered invulnerable. Since his heritage is half Asgardian and half Elder God, his Godly spirit is also much more powerful than any other Asgardian. He possesses Energy Manipulation powers even when he doesn’t have Mjolnir. Did you just ask yourself what the hells a Mjolnir? If you did then please leave. Like now, go. Your still here, good. Mjolnir is a mystical Hammer that was a gift to Thor from his father. It brings all new abilities to Thor’s already impressive arsenal. Mostly it serves as a conduit for his Godly energy. It gives him power of the elements, his favorite being lightning. Hence his title, God of Thunder. He is capable of channeling so much energy through Mjolnir that he once shattered it. That’s impressive if you don’t know because Mjolnir is made out of the metal called Uru. It’s supposed to be unbreakable. He can channel all his energy into a energy blast he calls the God Blast. It’s his most powerful weapon. It’s also his most destructive. It could melt Wolverine right off his bones. And he would do it if he had to, Thor is a warrior, and he will take a life if he has no choice. Thor can also go into a berserker state, called Warriors Madness, but he usually tries to avoid it, because although it doubles his power, he runs the risk of going insane. The hammer gives him some other abilities also, can open portals to other places and realms, allows him to fly. Thor can use his own energy to make himself float when he throws the hammer, but he needs Mjolnir to pull him along to really fly. Odin placed a spell on Mjolnir that allows only the worthy to lift it. Since he is worthy, not only can he lift it, he can command it to return to him when he throws it.
So let’s break it down Deadliest Warrior style.
Strength-Thor wins
Speed-Thor can fly faster than the speed of sound. Thor wins
Reflexes-Wolverine wins
Agility-Wolverine wins
Durability-Wolverine wins. Thor cant heal the way Wolvie does, and the unbreakable skeleton helps too.
Energy Projection-Thor wins. Even if he cant use the God Blast, he can still use controlled burst of lightning.
Fighting Skill-Tie. These guys have both been trained by the best. Thor has more experience, Wolverine is trained in more fighting styles.
X factors
Thor-Mjolnir, Unbreakable, can summon gusts of wind as powerful as a tornado and bolts of lightning.
Wolverine-Adamantium claws, Unbeakable, can cut through the toughest armor no problem, and he effectively has two hands to use to attack. Thor only has one hammer.
These two characters are a perfect match up. Highly skilled warriors that prefer to get up close and personal, unbreakable skeleton and claws against unbreakable hammer, and both are nearly indestructible! Let the battle begin!
EXCELSIOR!!!
