io9 has shared some pages from The Art of Ghost in the Shell, and those provide some insight into how Masamune Shirow's iconic manga and Mamoru Oshii's legendary anime have been brought to life in live action. It's hard to say how good the movie will be, but it certainly looks pretty damn cool so far.

Ghost in the Shell has been in the works for a while and follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology. Will it do the classic anime justice though?

Ghost in the Shell stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, and Michael Pitt. Directed by Rupert Sanders, the movie is currently set to be released on March 31st, next year.
