One Cast Member From STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Isn't Completely Enthralled By The Porgs
Porgs are the latest "cutesy" addition to the Star Wars universe, and they have taken the internet by storm; but one of The Last Jedi's cast members admits to a love/hate relationship with the tiny beasts.
The internet went wild with the first cry of the porgs in the second trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The tiny bird-like creatures were a huge hit with fans, but star John Boyega (who plays ex-Stormtrooper Finn) has admitted that he isn't quite as fond of the little beasts as everyone else is.
"I just remember doing some stuff and seeing a lot of porgs around," Boyega told Entertainment Weekly. "And they are interesting, but for me, I had a love/hate relationship with them. They’re very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon, that’s when they start to become really, really freaky. They’ve got real big eyes, all bunched together. There were, like, little tiny ones and little big ones that would just…yeah, it looks like a rash."
Whether or not the porgs serve a major purpose in the film is anyone's guess at this point, though one behind-the-scenes image featured Chewbacca with a feather in his mouth, which is ominous to say the least. We'll find out for certain when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theatres on December 15, 2018.
