SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Gets A Trio Of Stunning New Posters; Han Clashes With Val In A New Clip

As the marketing for Solo: A Star Wars Story kicks into high gear ahead of the film's Hollywood premiere this Thursday, Lucasfilm has debuted three gorgeous new posters and a second clip.

This latest sneak peek of our upcoming return to the galaxy far, far away is brief, but it does showcase Alden Ehrenreich's best work yet as the younger version of the iconic space-smuggler.

The Good

Well, they may not be "good" exactly, but they are our heroes!

This first poster features Han, Chewie, Lando and the rest of the criminal gang we'll be getting acquainted with when Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.

The Bad

The villains of the piece are spotlighted here.

Though Dryden Voss will most likely wind up being the film's "big bad", this poster features the enigmatic Enfys Nest and her gang of marauders who are known as the Cloud-Riders.

The Scoundrel

This final poster is arguably the best of the bunch.

Star Wars fans should immediately recognize Han's relaxed pose as a callback to his introduction in A New Hope, as he was sitting like this just before he blew Greedo's head off.

You know, that whole "Han shot first" thing you may have heard of.

"I Want In"

Woody Harrelson debuted this second sneak peek from Solo: A Star Wars Story on Jimmy Kimmel last night.

The brief clip features Han blowing Beckett and Val's cover on Mimban as they're preparing to pull off a heist. The latter does not take kindly to the interruption!

Just read that the embargo is apparently 10 days before release, and apparently is one of if not the earliest embargo releases for a SW film. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

@OmegaDaGrodd

The movie is debuting at Cannes on Thursday. I’m surprised the embargo isn’t being lifted then.

Either way, sounds like they’re confident in the movie.

@regularmovieguy - Good point. I completely forgot about that random Cannes debut

I've heard the movie is very good/great from a trusted source. When I say trusted, I mean I trust their opinion.. but then I, and they, also loved The Last Jedi so take that as you will.

Movie could be good as a whole... but man, I can't buy him as Han Solo whatsoever. Maybe it's just me.

@Kman

No...I can’t buy him as Han either. Don’t really see Donald Glover as Lando either tbh. He looks the part but all of that goes out when he opens his mouth.

I’m sure it will at least be good. I just don’t see a point in a Han prequel if I can’t buy into the leads performance.

Alden is looking better in the role.

Talking about real posters, when quality meets history, real things happen. They become organic. They are natural not just some product someone wants to sell you. That is why the OT is so special unlike this products from Mrs. Kennedy et al at Lucas film.

My respects to Mr. Howard though. Mrs. Kennedy should thank him for he might just save her product.
