Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is one of the most highly anticipated video games coming our way next year, and a new look at some of its characters was revealed during this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con (via SFFGazette.com) courtesy of a series of action figures being released by Hasbro as part of its popular "Black Series" and "Vintage Collection" ranges.
The B1 Battle Droid confirms that those soldiers from the prequels and The Clone Wars aren't done yet, though this iteration looks a little more formidable than its predecessors. There's enough articulation to fold the droid down to its prone state, so we're sure Star Wars fans will have fun displaying these.
Another villainous presence can also be seen in the form of a KX Security Droid. We've no doubt many of you will instantly think of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's K-2SO, but this particular droid looks set to cause major problems for Cal Kestis...for starters, it appears to be wielding a flamethrower!
So, we know about some of the cannon fodder Cal faces in the game, but what about the Jedi himself? Well, we get a closer look at his new costume here, but one of the figures shows him holding a blaster. We're guessing this means the Jedi: Fallen Order sequel will feature gunplay along with the classic lightsaber action; that would certainly shake things up a little, anyway.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he continues to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.
Developed by the veteran team at Respawn Entertainment, Jedi: Survivor will expand upon iconic Star Wars stories, worlds, and characters, and thrilling combat first experienced in Jedi: Fallen Order. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being built for the current generation of gaming hardware to create a deeper and more expansive Star Wars experience for players worldwide when the game launches in 2023. A recent PSN listing suggested it might arrive as soon as March.
