The cover for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary has found its way online, and it gives us arguably our best look yet at one of the enigmatic Knights of Ren that we first met - if only very briefly - in The Force Awakens.

We know The Rise of Skywalker will reintroduce these dark warriors in some capacity, but we're still not sure what role they'll play in the story. It's probably safe to assume they'll serve as back-up to Kylo Ren, but perhaps they'll actually be out for revenge against their former leader?

Speaking of Ben Solo, it's also been announced that fan-favorite writer Charles Soule is working on a four-part Marvel Comics miniseries called The Rise of Kylo Ren, which will chart the son of Solo's fall from the light and his ascendance as the leader of the Knights. The first part is set to hit shelves in December, just in time for the movie.

“You know the one story everyone’s dying to see, about Kylo and the Knights of Ren? That’s this,” wrote Soule on Twitter. “You’re not ready (hell, I barely am.)"

I'm curious to figure out how TKOR factor into this story. I think JJ could top the throne room fight if he uses these guys correctly but I can't shake the feeling that it could easily feel repetitive unless they find a creative way to factor them into the story

@OmegaDaGrodd - Fornme the only satisfying explanation for the Knights of Ren would be that they are fallen Jedi from Luke's temple that left with Kylo when he took off. Otherwise they would just be random followers that Kylo picked up at some point after he left the academy, and that just seems weak...
