Check Out Another Haunting New Trailer ("Drifting") And Banner For GRAVITY

A third trailer has been released for Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity, and this one (which is entitled "Drifting") is even more terrifying than the one released earlier today as Sandra Bullock's Ryan Stone finds herself drifting through space! Check it out.

[Sandra] Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky [George Clooney] in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

STARRING:

Sandra Bullock as Ryan Stone
George Clooney as Matt Kowalsky

RELEASE DATE: October 4th, 2013.

This movie looks depressing and boring as shit. It's one of those films, that if it just absolutely had to be made, they coulda shortened it to a TV commercial. The shuttle explodes, she falls off, boom, dead, I go back to watching porn. The End.

The movie was awful. Alfonso never reached his full potential. Probably got carried away by CGI.

Makes being marooned in the ocean looked like a joke. Truly terrifying, to me anyways.

good lord I can't wait this looks incredible. I seriously can't understand how anyone could think it looks "awful" or "boring". Of course the last time I said that there were some people who refused to see Children of Men, so the adults will have to go and see Gravity

If you think this is boring, go back to watching Adam Sandler movies and leave this alone.

I have often wondered what would happen in a situation like Sandra Bullock finds herself in. I can't wait for this movie.

This could be like Moon, the Sam Rockwell movie. It has that atmospher to it. Has a minimalist feel to it.

I just don't see how the hell they are surviving this at all in any realistic way. The station is destroyed along with their ship and they have been flung into space. I have no idea how the hell they are going to stop themselves from continually flying off into space. Even if they have boosters on the suits to correct themselves it would take any and all fuel they have in those things just to stop their momentum. A real space suit has only a few hours of oxygen in it and the synopsis says they have to go further out into space to survive what is there just so happens to be an abandoned space station or ship with oxygen inside it just floating around the Earth.

Looks like a space version of Open Water. Hopefully a little better than Open Water though.

@Nubase

I am all fine for a non happy ending it works the problem is this film unless it is going to pull some kind of deus ex machina out of it's ass seems to be going for an hour and a half to two hour movie about two people floating in space until they die. From everything I am seeing right now beyond it being very pretty, which it is, or extremely frightening, which the idea of floating in space until you die is, the movie is going to be them floating into space for a movie nothing to make me want to go see this film.

The difference between this and say Open Water which this is basically Open Water in space is that things can happen in Open Water to keep the movie going. On the ocean you deal with the elements, animals, trying to get food and water looking to get rescued while in space you float with no real chance of rescue. There is really nothing they can do being flung into space to survive or even do that is why this movie has no interest at all to me.

This has got to be a lock for best cinematography if anything.

@Pesmerga44 thanks. I know you were not trying to be funny but I laughed for 5 minutes reading your post.

The movie does look beautiful but like you said where is the real drama if there is only 1 outcome that makes sense. Unless there is some other shuttle already in space you can not launch a rescue mission before the air runs out.

Unless of course an alien space ship comes snatch them up.
