Claudio Sanchez Offers An Update On The Big Screen Adaptation Of THE AMORY WARS

Announced earlier this year, 'Coheed and Cambria' frontman Claudio Sanchez talks here about the live-action adaptation of the Image/BOOM! comic book series Amory Wars, commenting on whether or not he thinks it will appeal to more than just fans of the band and more.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Coheed and Cambria' frontman Claudio Sanchez and writer of Image Comics' (and later BOOM! Studios) The Amory Wars had this to say about the current status of the planned big screen adaptation. "It’s a universal story. It’s going to draw a bigger audience than just the band's. It’s very preliminary stages. Because the mythology is very dense and a lot of parts are already created ... it’s just trying to find the right starting point to get people attracted to it." Earlier this year, it was revealed that Mark Wahlberg and Leverage will produce the live-action film, although it's not entirely clear at this point whether or not the Ted actor will also star in the adaptation. The Amory Wars is set in Heaven's Fence, a collection of 78 planets held in place by interconnecting beams of energy, known as the Keywork. The first half of the story narrates Coheed Kilgannon and Cambria Kilgannon's struggle against Wilhelm Ryan, the Supreme Tri-Mage. [Wikipedia] Stay tuned for further updates on this project.

As much as I listen to Coheed and Cambrian, I've never read The Armory Wars, but I've heard it's pretty cool !

I wonder if the soundtrack will be solely Coheed. I think it'd be cool to take their songs and make them orchestral, not as distracting that way.

The Amory Wars series is really really good. And Coheed and Cambrias new albums is good as well. Stoked to see progress on this.
