Danny Trejo Joins Predators Cast

Danny Trejo has officially been cast in Robert Rodriguez's new Predator movie!

According to Worstpreviews.com's source PunchDrunkCritics, Danny Trejo revealed that he and director Robert Rodriguez have wrapped the "Machete" shoot and are now moving on to "Predators." This is the first casting news from the new reboot, but no word on what role Trejo will play. The site also didn't reveal whether Arnold Schwarzenegger would do a cameo.



The new movie involves a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors that are not always from outside their group.

"Predators" is being produced by Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal ("Vacancy," "Armored"). It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7th, 2010.

Sounds pretty cool to me!

as this is set on another planet, i don't see why this has to be anything other than predator 3... i liked the first 2, even AvP wasn't that bad, but the less said about AvP2 the better.

Both AVP movies made me want to shoot the screen. Yeah it was cool to see both of the monsters go at it, but they could have completely left all humans out of it and it wouldn't have made any difference. Why is it so hard to create likable fodder for the beasties?

P1 was great! P2 had issues but was still a good watch. AVP wasn't as bad as I expected. The story actually played quite nicely in terms of getting these two titans in one movie, shame the dialogue and acting was vomit inducing! Not seen AVP2, don't see the point!

Isn't this guy more of a shoe-in on a Robert Rodriguez movie than Depp in a Burton flick?

That machete movie was a fake trailer in Planet Terror. Robert Rodriguez wrote Machete in 1993 as a full feature for Danny Trejo.

doesnt a july 7th release date seem really rushed to anyone else????...recently halloween 2 had like 8 months to film and it was crap (in most opinions, and kinda mine). just seems rushed.

damn right man, the 2nd avp was way better than the first. how can any true alien or predator fan justify ONE alien killing 3 preds?? come on. and the 2nd had more fighting between the two races, AND it was one of the goriest movies to come out in a long time. i don't understand all the hate for AvP2. it was the way it should have been. dark, gory, and action packed.

i think maybe its because the stars of the movie were the aliens and predator. you weren't supposed to be rooting for the fodder. and i don't know, in avp2 i kind of thought the chick that was home on leave from iraq was a pretty cool character, i was rooting for her as far as the humans go, lol.

Dude, i absolutely agree with everything you said! The only part that I differ on is that I thought the first one was OK too! I was rooting for the chick in that one, and I thought it was especially cool that she realized the only way she was making it outta there was to help the Predator in whatever way she could, and then for him to mark her so his boyz would know she was an ally......f*ckin cool in my book.

I kno i'm in the minority, but i dug both.

Rodriguez always has the same actors in all the movies he's involved in, so I'm expecting Cheech Marin will also be in Predators.
I don't entirely mind that some director/producers have their favorite actors to work with, but the actors that Rodriguez likes aren't necessarily good actors. They're latino (so am I, before anyone calls me a racist). I've seen interviews where he talks about giving back, but it really is time to start casting people because they are good actors, and good for the part. Not because they are your friends, or in Rodriguez's case, the girl he happens to be sleeping with this month.
