IGN: Work has begun on a prequel for Death Race, with Paul W.S. Anderson writing a new story that will focus on the back-story of the titular engine-revving blood sport.

ShockTillYouDrop reports that the script - to be written by Tony Giglio - will delve into the past of the heavily scarred and massively popular driver Frankenstein.

Giglio is also being touted as a possibility to direct.
The film will be produced by Anderson and Jeremy Bolt's Impact Pictures when the pair have finished work on Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Inspace:If they keep all of the previous cast members, especially
Natalie Martinez, than I think this could be better than the first one.

yummy....:P

i didnt think this movie made enough money to warrant a sequel/prequel. but stathams movies always seem to get follow ups no matter how much they make.
