The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. I took my sister to a 3D showing last night. For someone with only basic knowledge of Doctor Who, I thought it was fun and pretty clever. I don't watch a lot of 3D, and truly, the only parts that made it worth it were the Gallifrey sequences, but whatever. Kind of wish they had featured Paul McGann in place of John Hurt - nothing against the actor or his version of the character, just figure when you have someone raring and willing, you might as well take advantage.

We stayed for the after-the-credits featurette (above), and I kind of wished we hadn't. Seems like a lot of self-gratifying praise going on, though the stuntMAN for Jenna was pretty amusing.

I saw it last night in the theatre. It was really good. What a great experiance to see so many fans in one place in the US.

What an amazing show. I love my comic book movies and all...but they arent Doctor Who. :)

It's Peter Cushing.

Back in the 60's they made two Doctor Who movies that were color remakes of 1st Doctor Stories that had the Daleks in them.

The movies are like a reboot of the show with the Doctor as a human who built a time machine.

Needless to say its not part of Doctor Who continulity.

And furthermore; the Peter Cushing version of the character was even called "Doctor Who" (not "The Doctor" as in the main series.

Decidedly not in continuity.
