Production is now underway on Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part 2, and a photo from the Budapest set has found its way online online via SFF Gazette. While not the clearest shot, the image appears to give us a first glimpse of new cast member Florence Pugh (Black Widow, Fighting With My Family) in-costume as Princess Irulan.
The daughter of the duplicitous Emperor of the Known Universe (Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV of House Corrino to give him his full title), Irulan doesn't have a particularly significant part to play in Frank Herbert's first novel, but the character is believed to have been given an expanded role for this upcoming sequel.
It's difficult to make out many details here, but she seems to be wearing a white gown (though that could actually be a costume cover-up) and some kind of tiara.
Pugh joins fellow new recruits Austin Butler (Elvis) as the evil Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the legendary Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux (Crimes of the Future) as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles from the first film.

A recently released synopsis reads “Part Two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.”
Warner Bros. recently announced that Dune: Part 2 had been pushed back from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023.
