Production is still underway on Denis Villeneuve's Dune sequel in Abu Dhabi, and star Zendaya (Chani) recently took to Instagram to share a stunning shot of the desert that will double for Arrakis. Now, her co-star Timothée Chalamet has followed suit - but it looks like he's a lot closer to the actual set here.

Though some outlets seem to be under the impression that the Bones and All actor is actually in-costume as Paul Atreides in this shot, we're not sure Muad'dib would be rocking this sort of fashionable attire in the desert! Then again, who knows what Villeneuve has in store for this sequel.

Part 2 will mainly adapt the second half of Frank Herbert's novel, of course, but we have heard reports that it will also include elements from the next book in the saga, Dune Messiah.

We're probably still a long way off from a trailer, but some official images - or at least more revealing behind-the-scenes shots - will hopefully be unveiled fairly soon.

Dune: Part 2's new cast additions include Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, the legendary Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles from the first film.

The synopsis reads: “Part Two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.”

Dune: Part Two was recently pushed back from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023.

Where's the word play this time Ror? Clearly not a set photo again but 'on location' 😅

I sound like a crazy person I guess, but I really don't get the hype around the first movie. Was pretty disappointed after the whole lead up. Also trying to make Jason Momoa the audience favorite by casting him as Duncan felt forced (in the movie) IMO, and so didn't feel the impact of his death scene.

@Kurne - I do get the hype, but for me it wasn't worth it. Think the movie kinda fell off after the death of Oscar Isaac's character. The movie just lacked a goal (aside from getting to Part 2) at that point and I lost all interest.
