Last week, we finally got a first look at Dune: Part Two, and a new poster has now arrived (via SFFGazette.com) that sets the stage for a teaser trailer to debut tomorrow.
Yes, we're really that close to seeing some footage from Denis Villeneuve's highly anticipated follow-up to his 2021 hit, and with Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya) finally set to unite, we're sure the sneak will send social media shippers into a frenzy!
The filmmaker recently told Vanity Fair, "I kept saying to my crew, 'The most important thing is that spark, that relationship between both of these characters.' If we don’t capture that, if we don’t have that onscreen, there’s no movie."
Asked what it was like to portray that on screen, Zendaya notes, "It was funny trying to figure out in this futuristic space talk, like, how do they flirt? What does that look like for a space warrior and the young duke of a planet? How do they show that they like each other? What does that even sound like?"
"We were definitely trying to navigate that, which was funny because all of us were stumped," the actress continues. "I think it’s just as foreign to us as it probably is to the characters."
Dune: Part Two has added Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista, meanwhile, all reprise their roles from the first movie.
According to the synopsis, the sequel will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.
