It was a tough night for some fan-favorite sci-fi and comic book films at the 34th annual Producers Guild of America awards. The 34th PGA ceremony took place last night at the Beverly Hilton where the likes of AndorBlack Panther: Wakanda ForeverObi-Wan Kenobi, and Love, Death + Robots were on the nominee list.

But the wins were few and far between for some of CBM's favorite 2022 titles as the biggest genre winner was Everything Everywhere All At Once, which continues to gather steam heading into this year's Oscars. The previous 2 PGA winners, CODA and Nomadland, also went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars.

In addition to the nominees and award winners listed below, Tom Cruise was honored with the David O. Selznick Achievement Award, and the motion picture Till, received the Stanley Kramer Award. Michael De Luca and Pam Abby were also honored with the Milestone Achievement award.

The Producers Guild of America awards were first established in 1990, originally as the Golden Laurel Awards. The ceremony honors the producers behind the year's best motion picture and television productions.

I can’t think of a film more deserving of the accolades it gets, and I will only be watching the Oscar’s this year for that Best Picture nom and to hear that (hopefully) be announced.

I love the comic book movies that bring me to this site and the fandom, but that movie is what movies are all about.

Weird Al's movie won something? Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the hell out of it but usually what I enjoy doesn't get pissed on if it were on fire by any award committee.

Very overrated movie. It was pretty good, but no masterpiece.

3/5 stars.

This comment section is really driving home that most of these users are just troll clowns who will hate on anything popular. Even if it isn't marvel

This was my favorite movie of last year, by far. It deserves every award, except for best Actor, Fraser has to win it. The Whale was so sad, but still a good ass movie

@bobevanz -
Imagine if they had hundreds of millions of dollars to waste like Marvel. This movie could have been the greatest shit ever! Budget doesn't matter, it's the love behind the project. Feige is out of touch

@bobevanz - The Whale was a good movie, not great. The subplots weren’t always that interesting, even though they all do serve their purposes down the line. But Brendan Fraser was outstanding and devastating. So many moments where he just breaks your heart.

Congrats to all the winners except the white lotus. I don’t care what nobody says that shit was not interested to watch.

@MyCoolYoung - I might actually agree. Prefer the first season over the second, that's for sure

@bkmeijer1 - *interesting

Mannn…. The most interesting part is the reveals at the end but getting there is a slog. I kept. Hearing great things about Aubrey plaza’s character so I watched it but it was a nothing burger

@MyCoolYoung - yeah, it could've done with six episodes like the first season.

As for performances, I actually liked Theo James the most. His character was also the most interesting. Didn't really care for the others.

@MyCoolYoung - Have to agree. Sat through both seasons and it ain’t good. I feel like it is one of those situations where they have convinced people that if you say you don’t like it, you don’t get it, so everyone pretends it was great.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/26/2023, 6:34 PM
@Knightrider - you might be on to something with that one. I always tell people, don’t matter how complex or smartly made something is, if it’s not interesting to watch and/or decode, you’ve failed that viewer and this one failed me for sure
Knightrider
Knightrider - 2/26/2023, 6:41 PM
@MyCoolYoung - The thing is, I don’t think it is all that clever. It just uses a ‘Mystery Box’ type of story telling that we all mock JJ for doing and it’s themes aren’t subtle at all.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/26/2023, 6:41 PM
@bkmeijer1 - I’m going to have to force myself to watch it again. Hopefully I could find him or anyone else interesting. Me and my sister talked about it, and we both came to the same conclusion
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/26/2023, 6:54 PM
@Knightrider - I really hate in your face/heavy handed storytelling. That’s why some of the last of us hasn’t resonated well with me. We went like 4 episodes in a row with someone finding a different way to call Joel a protector

bkmeijer1 - 2/27/2023, 3:48 AM
@MyCoolYoung - don't think you have try and rewatch if you're not interested. I'm watching The Peripheral right now, and that is a far more interesting mystery to decode what's is going on.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/27/2023, 12:07 PM
@bkmeijer1 - I don’t think I’ve heard of that one. I’ll give it a shot

@MyCoolYoung - it's on Amazon Prime. Is a bit like Westworld.

I don't suggest reading the explore page on Prime if you decide to watch, because it actually spoils quite a few surprises.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/27/2023, 2:40 PM
@bkmeijer1 - what? Why would they do that lol makes zero sense. Im a just jump right into it this evening
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 2/27/2023, 2:49 PM
@MyCoolYoung - I don't know. Amazon did the same thing with Rings of Power and Wheel of Time. They reveal things on the explore page that is revealed later on in the series. Maybe I'm just not supposed to read it beforehand.
