Freida Pinto Confirms She And James Franco Won't Appear In DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
We know that Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a whole new cast and is currently being shot in New Orleans, but any rumours of Rise of the Planet of the Apes cast members Freida Pinto and James Franco making an appearance have been squashed by the former.
James Franco in particular was a pivotal part of the young Caesar's life in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and while the sequel is set quite some time after the 2011 movie, it seems a shame that the Spider-Man actor won't be making at least some sort of small appearance. Well, Freida Pinto - who played his love interest in the movie - has now confirmed that neither herself or Franco have been asked to reprise their roles in the Matt Reeves helmed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. "The sequel's on, but we're not in it," she told Digital Spy at the Sound of Change concert recently. "It's a whole new cast. It would have been great to [do the sequel], but I don't know how they would bring our characters back in. But we'll do something else." How do you guys feel about this news? Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. The movie is set for release on Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd, 2014.
In 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes', a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.
