Gary Whitta To Pen Adaptation Of Mark Millar's STARLIGHT For Fox

After nabbing one of the hottest writing gigs going with Gareth Edwards' standalone Star Wars flick (still no confirmation of which character it'll focus on), Gary Whitta will also pen the script for Fox's take on Image Comics' Starlight, which is written by Mark Millar. The comic -- which deals with the adventures of ageing space-hero Duke McQueen, who agrees to take on one last mission to save the Earth -- is a relatively new title, with the first issue only hitting shelves back in March. Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past) will produce along with Millar. Have you guys been following this one? Is it a good premise for a movie? Sound off below.

I tell ya, as more and of these keep rolling the more it hurts the CBM success. These comic books keep coming out of nowhere. Please stop this. Let us enjoy the all mainstream super heroes and then we can talk about all this B-side heroes.

I haven't been following it at all, but I'm anticipating more of Millar's works being adapted to film, most importantly Superior.

Lately Millar's work has been pretty awful -- but "Starlight" somehow feels fresh, different from what he's done before, and better. Yeah, I think it has potential for a film, it is a good comic book, really. (Unlike Wanted, Nemesis, and oh so many many others...)
