Jennifer Lawrence Talks KATNISS EVERDEEN's Objectives In HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1
With Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hitting theater in less than five days, hit the jump to check out what Jennifer Lawrence had to say about Katniss Everdeen's views on war and goals she has in her newest film. Check it out!
The 24 year old actor recently spoke on her character's (Katniss) views on the war that will commence in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, “Katniss is representing the consequences of war. It’s not that she doesn’t believe in what President Coin wants. It’s not that she doesn’t believe the Capital is a terrible government that’s only good for the one percent. But war is complicated. It affects everyone on both sides. There’s no right way to start or end a war. I don’t know." War indeed is complicated, and it will only get worse as the Hunger Games series progresses. I heard a saying that went something like this: "Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time." that quote applies somewhat to the situation the characters are in, in the Hunger Games films.
Jennifer Lawrence then talked about how Liam Hemsworth, who portrays Gale in the film, made her tougher. "He taught me how to be fair and to stand up for myself. My biggest weakness is negotiating with people. I’m a wimp about standing up for myself. He’s really good at making sure everything stays fair. Whereas I used to let people walk all over me. He taught me to toughen up.” Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters in three days in the US, and it's predicted to have one of the biggest openings of year. Will you go see this film? The Hunger Games is a 2012 American science fiction adventure film directed by Gary Ross and based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The picture is the first installment in The Hunger Games film series and was produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, with a screenplay by Ross, Collins and Billy Ray. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.[5] The story takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future in the nation of Panem, where boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18 must take part in the Hunger Games, a televised annual event in which the "tributes" are required to fight to the death until there is one remaining who will be crowned the victor. Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place in the games. Joined by her district's male tribute Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson), Katniss travels to the Capitol to train for the Hunger Games under the guidance of former victor Haymitch Abernathy (Harrelson).
