The short debuted online in early November following rave reviews at various film festivals and Jesus Orellana quickly found himself one of the most highly sought after commodities in Tinseltown. By the end of November, Orellana was signed to
Verve and just last week, was giving pitches to all the big studios .
The thing to remember is that Orellana made the entire short on his home computer, after teaching himself the animation software and with virtually no budget. It was made to showcase his vision for a live-action movie and it appears that this Cinderella story will indeed have the happy ending that Orellana desired.

"Fox-based Simon Kinberg and his Genre Films banner will produce with Scott Glassgold and Raymond Brothers of I Am Entertainment, which also reps Orellan. A scribe will be hired to write the script, which will build on the storyline and the characters of the short. Orellana had a roadmap for the feature story as part of his pitch presentation."

Since it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world's best festival specialized in genre films. Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers. Currently ROSA is in development to be a live-action motion picture.
