We're now just over two months away from the release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and an awesome new banner for the Michael Dougherty-directed sequel has found its way online.

The poster, which was spotted in Japan (via Bloody Disgusting), is quite a bit more colorful than the domestic versions we've seen so far. In addition to the multicolored title, the iconic behemoth's spines can be seen lighting-up as he prepares to blast some unfortunate enemies.

Godzilla took down his foes with relative ease in the first movie, but he is definitely going to have his work cut out with this next batch of Titans. Although based on what we saw in a recent TV spot, there's a good chance Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah will also be fighting amongst themselves.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Starring Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters May 31, 2019.
