On the heels of last week's new Godzilla: King of The Monsters TV spot, Total Film has shared a first look at the cover of this month's subscribers-only issue, and it gives us another look at the iconic creature roaring into action.

The big fella took down his foes with relative ease in the first movie, but he is definitely going to have his work cut out with this next batch of Titans - although based on what we saw in that TV spot, there's a good chance Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah will also be fighting amongst themselves.

Check out the cover below along with a previously released series of character posters, and let us know if you're looking forward to the Godzilla sequel in the comments.

Rodan

“For the Beast that comes up out of the Abyss will make war with them, and overcome them… and kill them.”

Mothra

“Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions over the earth. They were told not to harm the grass or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind.”

Ghidorah

“They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss. A star fallen from heaven to earth, he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like that of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened...”

Godzilla

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Starring Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters May 31, 2019.

I don't really know what missiles are going to do against freakin' King Ghidorah, but I guess it wouldn't be a true Godzilla movie without the army uselessly trying to kill these things.

Who's directing this again? I'm glad it's not Gareth Edwards, but who is it and what has he done before?
