We're now just over a month away from the release of Godzilla Minus One (in Japan), and some new promotional material for Toho's latest monster mash has been spotted on display in a Japanese movie theater.

The standee allows fans to stand on Big G's tongue for a photo op, while the banner gives us an awesome new look at the redesigned King of the Monsters as his fins glow blue in preparation of an atomic blast being unleashed.

The image was originally shared in low-quality, but thanks to Kaiju News Outlet, we now have a hi-res version.

The run-time for Minus One has also been revealed, and the movie is set to clock in at 125 minutes, (2 hours and 5 minutes), tying it with Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) as the longest Toho Godzilla film. This also makes it the third longest in the entire franchise (Hollywood and Polygon productions included) after Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2 hours and 12 minutes) and 1998's Godzilla (2 hours and 19 minutes).

Check out the new banner and standee at the links below, and keep an eye out for a new trailer, which should be coming our way over the next week or so.

This will be Toho's first Godzilla movie since 2016's Shin Godzilla. Information beyond the title is sparse, but we do know that Takashi Yamazaki - the filmmaker who worked on visual effects for Shin Godzilla - will direct the film.

Yamazaki recently outlined his original pitch for the project, while explaining that unusual title.

"Postwar Japan has lost everything. The film depicts an existence that gives unprecedented despair. The title Godzilla Minus One was created with this in mind. In order to depict this, the staff and I have worked together to create a setting where Godzilla looks as if "fear" itself is walking toward us, and where despair is piled on top of despair. I think this is the culmination of all the films I have made to date, and one that deserves to be "experienced" rather than "watched" in the theater. I hope you will experience the most terrifying Godzilla in the best possible environment."

Specific plot details are also still under wraps, but a (very) brief synopsis tells is that Godzilla: Minus One "sees an already devastated postwar Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla."

The movie is set to debut in Japan on November 3, 2023 and in theaters in the US nationwide on December 1, 2023.

I don't see the point in having two different Godzillas. The two teams should be working together to give the public one consistent vision of the character.

For a second I misread the headline and thought it implied that he was going to blast the Titanic with his Atomic Breath.

I had concerns cause I had several different scenarios pop into my head like:
-When did Toho and James Cameron decide to crossover?
-Who decided to raise it?
-Who thought it was a good idea to build another one?
-Is Jack gonna come back and avenge himself for Rose’s ass taking up the whole door gonna be a subplot and euphemism for Godzilla’s rampage in Tokyo?

Genuinely not impressed with what I'm seeing from this version so far. I want to love, hope it's good, but expectations are very low.
