Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Season 3 Will Reboot The Series With New Titans And A New Creative Team

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has largely focused on the MonsterVerse's version of Godzilla and King Kong, but if the series returns for Season 3, it will be with a new creative team and Titans.

As we first revealed on SFFGazette.com, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is being rebooted for Season 3. Apple TV and Legendary Television intend to take the series in a new direction, with new Titans set to step into the spotlight after the series previously focused mostly on Godzilla and King Kong.

Season 2 ended with several unanswered questions and teases for Season 3, including the introduction of Rodan in the show. A spin-off series, starring Wyatt Russell as the young Colonel Lee Shaw, is still moving forward and will take place in 1984 as he tries to prevent the Soviets from unleashing a devastating new Titan.

Joby Harold serves as showrunner on the Shaw-led spin-off and is still developing multiple series within the world of the Monsterverse.

It's unclear whether this overhaul means an entirely new cast, but Apple TV is seeking new writers and a new showrunner to take over from Chris Black. He co-created Monarch: Legacy of Monsters with Season 1 executive producer Matt Fraction.

There's also no word on why Apple TV has decided to shake things up, and while the report specifically mentions new Titans, Godzilla and Kong's status is now a mystery to us (Legendary may have decided they're best saved for upcoming theatrical release, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova).

Interestingly, the trades have confirmed that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters hasn't been officially renewed for Season 3. So, if a suitable creative team and direction can't be found, Season 2 might be where the series ends.

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that levelled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters explores one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organisation known as Monarch.

Season 2 picked up with the fate of Monarch—and the world—hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga revealed buried secrets that reunited our heroes (and villains) on Kong's Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past made waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe, all with the threat of a Titan event on the horizon.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova's cast includes Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Sam Neill, and Dan Stevens, who reprises his role as veterinarian Trapper Beasley from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The movie arrives in theaters on March 26, 2027.

Zzzzzzzzx

The show sucks and the only good Godzilla content is coming from the filmmakers behind Minus One and Minus Zero.

Show is massively boring l. Pretty sure they jus reused most of the titan footage from the other movies and just slightly retouched them for the show to save on cost.

Similar to Jurassic Park the worst part are the humans and this show is 99% human.

How can you reboot this? It’s connected to a wider universe.
So your’re saying season 1 and 2 will be canon to the films, but season 3 won’t be? WTF?

I really liked S1. S2 wasnt bad. Again, the "past" characters are MUCH better and more likeable than the present characters. i do like how they connect to the movies but i dont think it matters much to the GA who has never watched these shows how they link up. Im good if they make a S3... if not, no biggie.

Still got Minus Zero to go see in a week!!

Season 2 was better imo but still kinda boring. This is a wierd move rather than just cancelling the show

The second most successful interconnected film universe to date. It does need a refresh but I don't know about a "reboot".

On a broader note, now that Warner Brothers has turned to the Dark side and will drown itself in debt, Legendary is my new go to studio and a combination with them and Lionsgate can help make the world right again.
