I've called District 9 - the 'Alien' of my generation. If that's true - then Avatar is my generation's 'Star Wars.' James Cameron has pulled off his epic masterpiece - and as cocky as he very well may be and as expensive as this movie is (massively half a billion expensive) - everything worked.
I can't deny this movie - for it slayed me. Sam Worthington is now a household name - I knew this would happen since I saw him in Terminator 4 - and I'm happy to see his career play out like it should. The guy is a force to be reckoned with and even when he's acting through his big blue alien form - you can tell right away it's him inside.
The CGI in this movie is the absolute best I've EVER seen in a movie - so I was completely lost in this beautiful world of aliens. The amount of breathtaking scenery of this planet and it's huge array of species blew me away. For a near three hour film - everything flew by and all my senses were rocked. I can't tell you enough how fantastic AVATAR is - if you don't like it - you're a stuck up douche that went into this film with an agenda of mind bullets - ready to blast anything because of close minded stuck uppery.

For a 'rehashed' story, I was certainly moved also. Who cares if there isn't much to it? It was fantastic. The acting - digital acting - were all Academy Award worthy and Zoe Saldana's performance as the blue female alien warrior is the best digital acting job since Andy Serkis was Gollum. Go see this movie now. If you don't appreciate it's amazingness - you're a douchebag. It's that simple.
By the way - I didn't give into this movie's prehype - in fact I made fun of it hard - very hard. But when I finally laid witness to this monster of a movie, I caved. It's amazing.
