As I was browsing the official BBC Doctor Who site I came across this little tid bit that I thought some of you might be interested in. According to the BBC the iconic logo for Doctor is, much like the Doctor himself, up for a new regeneration. As the below video illustrates that the logo seen during the main title sequence has changed drastically over the years from simply some white text that read Doctor Who to the highly streamlined logo that it is today.
The official site had its own video on the morphing of the logo but as I live in Boston Ma. it was unavailable for me to see, but our british friends can no doubt see it perfectly well.

As we've seen in previous releases on the next season of Doctor Who it seems the design team is going for a more classic look to the show. From Matt's wardrobe, to the reinstatement of the old ambulance sticker on the Tardis door it is apparent that we are seeing a Renaissance of sorts and with that in mind it seems to me that they might be changing the logo to something more reminiscent of the older series logos like the diamond shape and bubble letters, but that is only conjecture at this point.
So to all our british friends please fill us in on the news as you hear it, I'm sure you'll get it first.
This just in the new logo has landed!
Personally I really like how the shape of the TARDIS was used in the lettering. It's a huge improvement over the old logo and I think it will be remembered as a classic in the future.
