The reception to the redesigns for the Power Rangers mythos in Saban's upcoming franchise reboot has been mixed to say the least; while several fans have welcome the reimagined, alien-esque designs with open arms, many others have derided them as overcomplicated and uninspired.

Our only look at the film has been through a brief teaser trailer that has shown very little, despite the franchise being known for its over-the-top action. We know the classic Zords will factor into the film, but we've only been given small glimpses of them through a few posters and scanned toy images. Now, some more detailed images of the Zord toys have made their way online, giving us a better look at the revamped prehistoric robots, along with the Ranger figurines that will accompany them and what appears to be the film's version of Rita's minions, the "Putties".

What do you make of the Zords? Do you think they'll fare any better on the big screen? Let us know in the comments.

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
