Recently at the Super 8 premiere, MTV caught up with director J.J. Abrams - who successfully rebooted the Star Trek universe a couple years ago and is planning to begin work on its sequel soon - with questions about the film's progress, confirming that information about the production schedule should arrive soon. He's also asked about returning as director, and he says that no decisions 'have been made' as of yet.

"We're working on that right now," he said of the on-going negotiations with Paramount with regard to the film's overall plan and production schedule. "I hope to have some information soon."

And will Abrams be stepping back into the director's chair for this film?

"I would hope so, but we'll see," he said. "No decisions [have been made] yet, but I look forward to having the answer soon."

What are you, dense? Are you retarded or something?

You honestly think Nolan has risen (no pun intended) to such a position that he has final say above Warner, the company that actually owns and funds the films they are HIRED to make?

Moreoever, you think that Warner actually WANTS their characters to fail, or at the very least, do less well than another?

Zack Snyder was chosen because he was (in their opinion) the best person for the job. He also has a history with Warner.

JJ Abrams had his shot at Superman and it was absolute dreck, and either Warner didn't want Abrams, or Abrams didn't want to come back. Abrams also has a history with Paramount, not Warner.

Furthermore, even if Abrams was considered, he would probably have to choose between Superman & Star Trek, and seeing as how he already started with one franchise, probably figured he should stick with it (or is obligated to by legal contracts).

Rant aside, I am not a fan of Abrams anymore, nor of Kurtzman and Orci, and really do not think that ST2 will be any good. I hated the first one. While I won't wish this film failure (and really, what does my opinion matter, anyways? The film will make millions no matter how I feel about it), I can't wish it all the best.

I just hope that now the origin is out of the way, they can move forward and tell NEW stories. Not rehash old ones or busy themselves with destroying planets and killing parents for the "grounding realism" they think it brings to their film.

Stop sucking on JJ balls. He is nowhere as good a Nolan. Nolan knows how to tell a story and give the character some depth. Jar Jar only know how to show lots of explosions. While mastering the art of having cardboard cutout characters carry a movie. Hes no better then Micheal Bay.
