Second Trailer For STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Officially Classified
No word on when exactly it'll debut yet, but a recent classification seemingly confirms that a new theatrical trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness will be released very soon.
As we get closer to the theatrical release of Star Trek Into Darkness, the marketing campaign should be amping up sooner rather than later. It has previously been stated that a second trailer for the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel will premiere early this year (namely February/March), and the latest trailer classification seems to confirm this report. Via Alberta Film Ratings, the second trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness has been classified. However, the trailer noticeably has a brief running time of one minute and ten seconds, which is very unusual for a second theatrical trailer. Though, this is a similar situation to when the same site classified the first teaser trailer, which ended up being an announcement teaser for the full trailer (which arrived shortly afterwards). Could Paramount be going the same marketing route for this trailer?
Also, there's the question of which movie the trailer will be attached to. The most obvious choice would be fellow Paramount 3D sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which bows March 29th. Another plausible selection would be Disney's Oz: The Great And Powerful, which debuts March 8th. Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.
Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve and Anton Yelchin. The film is set to hit theaters May 17th.
