How did they pay for the chicken when there's no longer a currency-based economy in the Star Trek universe?

@ed:

do you ever wonder WHY your site gets so little traffic that you actually have to post the headlines from your site on this site?

it's cool to have this sort of thing as part of the site (it's fanboy culture, it's humorous, et cetera, i get it). but does this really belong on the same page as news of hathaway as catwoman or pictures of the new spidey suit or interviews with hemsworth?

@thwip-- Wow, that's kinda douchey... @Ed-- there's no reason why some news can't be humorous. Keep 'em coming, please.

Good find ED...
It was funny and entertaining, and a good tie in for superherostuff and cafepress and their Star Trek merchandise. It also helps keep the interest of Trek fans. Apparently many people don't understand that keeping up a site isn't free and advertising is necessary to keep the site alive, not that this was an ad...don't get me wrong. But to tie entertainment into the ads is the key. Now, this may not have seemed as important to some as the Spidey suit or Hemms pecs, but if one Trek fan bought a new shirt after seeing this article, well then the ad worked, and we all got a little laugh. Thank you for doing what's needed to keep up this site, because it is my FAVORITE web site.

Grimm, the truth is that it was only placed here for entertainment, not to sell anything. I don't agree with the notion that everything on the front page has to be serious news. This whole thing is supposed to be fun as well as informative.

And thwip, why go for the attack? For a time we had stopped updating Earth's Mightiest -- which is owned by the people behind CBM, by the way -- and now we're updating again, hence the once a day item making note of that site's headlines. We're merely cross-promoting.

I love when douche nozzles come in here and whine about, "Why is this on the front page?" and such. It's the same people over and over. Go get yourself some big boy pants, develop a sense of humor, and roll with it. It was funny, for chrissakes!
