I was watching "Enterprise" last night, when I realized: why isn't there a new show? So, I started thinking of new show ideas.

1. Star Trek: Academy

The focus would be a group of students trying to impress their superiors and trying to prove they are ready to be crew members and medical officers.
The characters are based on the Enterprise B crew. I chose that group since Sulu's daughter is a member, and I thought it would be nice to have George Takei as a guest star.

2. Star Trek: Lost Voyages

The focus is Enterprise B and the first female captain and crew.

3. Star Trek: 2570

The focus would be the future of The Federation and how it is threatened by higher powers and other races. Based primarily upon the Enterprise J only seen on "Star Trek: Enterprise."

last i heard Lucas wasnt so sure that SW would ever make it to the local networks as a tv show. id like to see the unleashed storyline along with the stories that happened after movies 4,5 and 6. I know Lucas wont be helming those but thats probably for the better. maybe we can get something really dark out of that mythos.

Oversaturation. For the last two decades there have been multiple shows and two film franchises running concurrently. It was just too much. The volume outweighed the material, the same ideas and situations were repeating from film to film and episode to episode and it was frankly getting boring. Finally people stopped watching.

Star Trek 09 did so well for two reasons; it was genuinely different in its feel and approach going at the concept with the subtlety of a roller coaster, and there had finally been a break of four years since the general public had seen anything Star Trek related on film or TV (Star Trek: Enterprise having ended in 2005 and STNG: Nemesis having been released and failed at the box office in 2002).

IMO I think it is best to stick with the Star Trek films only from now on, or at least for a decade or two. Maybe one day we can see a new series, but not one that runs concurrently with a film franchise. Star Trek is best when spoon fed in well thought out and parceled moderation, not force fed and shoveled down the nontrekers throats every time they turn on a TV screen.

The TV show ratings have been good but steadily going down since TNG stopped, and then DS9, then Voyager and they came out with Enterprise, which was okay, but c'mon. The movies are more epic. The shows were good, but I enjoy epic. I would be okay if they just did quality movies.

I see one minor typo in this article. The Enterprise: B was commanded by a man, Captain John Harriman, while the Enterprise: C was commanded by a woman, Captain Rachel Garrett. Other than that, COOL article, and interesting ideas!

It's definitely time for a new Star Trek series. I would like to see the crew of the Enterprise J. No more damn prequels!

PLEASE READ!!! MY BADASS IDEA FOR THE NEXT MOVIE, GREATER THAN ALL, CERTAINLY BETTER THAN KHAN OR THE FRIGGIN' TRIBBLES!!!!!!
I'm posting this on multiple Trek stories for good reason. My idea for the next movie.
Start on the Klingon home world, they are drinking and training, at the same time of course, when a group of Borg cubes comes down and assimilates the whole planet, but something about the Klingon physiology makes the assimilation process not quite work right and you end up with psycho, ultra badass Klingon/Borg hybrids who then destroy all of the other Borg and take over the ships and go out to destroy all other planets because no other race is good enough to be assimilated. They get into Federation territory around the same time more Borg get there. Have the Enterprise encounter the Borg queen who gets Kirk on board and instead of assimilating him, falls in love with him(of course, Kirk's pimp hand with alien chicks is THAT strong) and they team up to defeat the K/B and she promises to leave the quadrant alone.....for now. How would that be?
