Not only did Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially pass the $300M mark at the domestic box office faster than any other film yesterday (Jurassic World did it in eight days, TFA in five), but after taking the highest Monday earner title from Spider-Man 2, it now looks set to do the same to Sony's 2012 reboot, with a best all-time Tuesday haul of a projected $37.88M. It seems the Force has it in for the Webhead!

The unprecedented box office dominance of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens has analysts predicting that it could actually topple Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time, and become the first to amass a whopping $3 billion. Obviously that remains to be seen, but with the return to the galaxy far, far away continuing to break records left right and center, I wouldn't bet against it.
