Another reason why JJ is the right choice as director

I just love this note! I'm also extremely pleased with the marketing efforts that Disney, Lucasfilm and Bad Robot have used thus far used to promote Star Wars Episode 7. Yes I know, we are only talking about a few photos but they have been just perfect. The excitement for this flick seems to be at an all time high. Reading the note, I get the sense that JJ Abrams really understands this franchise and what it means to the fans. Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope came out when he was just 10 years old. It was a major influence on his childhood and as we have scene- his career.  I could not be more thrilled with the choice and can’t wait to see more promotional materials from the flick.  If case his handwriting is a little hard to read, I transcribed below.

"Dearest Cast and Crew, What an honor it is to work beside all of you, on Star Wars Ep VII. I can’t thank you enough, for all work past and future. Let’s take good care of not just ourselves, but of each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let’s give ‘em something GREAT. XO JJ"

Why is there a slash through the R in Abrams in his letterhead?

@RexDartEskimoSpy

Not sure on that one. Judging by the red paper and script supervisor Dawn Gilliam’s watermark, I think its just a page from his copy of the script.
